Nice quiet place, me and my boyfriend are foodies so we decided to try it out & we fell in love with the place good vibes, great customer service as well. The food was delicious, not a huge fan of the Mac n'cheese but overall the food was great , the flavor Nashville was extremely hot, but the original crispy chicken was the best! *chefs kiss*

My husband and I heard about this place because it was in my google news feed and said it was going out of business in a week. I wanted to try the chicken sandwich but was so surprised at how delightful the sides were. The macaroni and cheese is delicious the baked beans sweet and savory and the greens taste like my grandma's ( a little bitter but perfect for a hotsauce addition). The chicken was juicy and taste like the flavor was injected into it. And the greatest part for me is all the food was HOT. We got the mild chicken sandwich because a lot of the comments said medium was over kill?...we could have stood for a spice up. It's a shame we didn't find it earlier. Customer service was fantastic! We would definitely come back for the chicken and sides, not necessarily the chicken sandwich. The reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 is because we didn't care for the fries (nothing special, not really seasoned) and the coleslaw taste of too much mayonnaise for us. But other then that really really good.Parking: Easy to find and plenty of parking

This and Howlin Ray's are the only real legitimate Nashville hot chicken places. Why only so few people know about Hotville is beyond me. Just go.

We arrived at almost closing, but when we walked in, we felt right at home! It was so welcoming with all the decor and the owner there to greet us and take our order. She was very friendly! The food was perfect and fresh. We got a chance to really admire all of our so familiar Nashville details in the restaurant. It was superbly clean! Convenience of napkins, plastic ware and their Hotville hot sauce right at the table. Wait time was amazing for authentic Nashville hot chicken or even Princes chicken, we waited about 30 min. So worth it. Hope to visit again!

Fantastic spicy fried chicken with friendly staff and excellent service. Note that medium has a kick but is doable for most. Next level might be tricky .

Weekend/Saturday & Sunday: Extra, Extra Read All About It! My friend had been telling me about Hotville! Today, we finally ate here, as their last day open is Dec.18th. The food is absolutely incredible! I immediately thought...they make it like my mama & how my grandma used to. Now you know that's good! Haha! Fried Fish(Swai) Sandwich: Love at first bite! The brioche bun is buttery delicious. A bit of crunch when I bit into it had me feeling like the people you see in church when they get the Holy Ghost! Haha! No joke! I actually danced in my seat a bit! So good! The sandwich doesn't even need the side of tartar sauce. December 18th: We also returned on the evening Hotville closed & I had this fish sandwich again...absolutely delicious! Fries: Thick, seasoned well & tasty as ever! No ketchup needed. Mac & Cheese: Cheesy with that little bit of crust on top that makes you want to dance! Haha! They make it like my mama! BBQ Baked Bean Trio: So flavorful that it took me back to family reunions! The mixture of beans & the sauce makes it like a party for my pallet. This is a must try dish, 100% and no pork. Flavor upon flavor! Customer Service: Southern charm at its finest, from the moment we walked through the door, including a surprising visit to our table by the owner! Friendly as ever & after speaking to her, we decided to order two more items to go; banana pudding, as well as yams! Yum! Overall: I'm super happy that my friend told me about Hotville, since they're actually closing tomorrow. However, while I'm not usually into food trucks, this is one food truck I will be lining up at... In a heartbeat, and with the quickness! Let's go!

OK so I raided this place before strictly based on a couple of takeout orders. Don't get me wrong, the food is really really good, but dining in has a whole different feel to the experience. I had to go to the doctor so I went to the place located directly across the street on purpose so I can come in here. Briefly re: food. Of the few times I've already eaten here, the food is always been tasty. The fried chicken has a really great crunch and it's juicy. On my recent visit, I ordered the quarter leg combo with the three sides. I got the barbecue beans trio, the mac & cheese, and corn bread dressing. The beans had a nice sweet taste to it and I liked that they combined the combination of beans. The mac & cheese had a well cooked pasta and a very creamy cheese to it. The cornbread dressing was interesting. I would say it's more like a stuffing that you get at Thanksgiving time, but there's corn bread in the recipe. The folks inside were super nice, and the place feels very clean. It also kind of felt like I was transported to Tennessee with all the decor in awesome articles and items you could look at in the display cases. When I put in my order at the front, they were just super nice and helpful when I had questions. Parking is not an issue at all because there's plenty of retail parking centers located on the outskirts of a shopping mall. It's a bummer they're closing soon, but they will have a presence here in LA in the form of pop-ups or a truck. That is, until they get a new location eventually. I'm looking forward to seeing what Kim Prince has planned for the future and will be watching.

First of all, it's a very cute back porch kinda vibe. The greeter/order taker is welcoming and accommodating, taking her time to explain for new customers. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side of mac n cheese and lemonade and it looked so good when the order came. It was all very good, nice size portions and definitely filling. I got the Cali mild spice and am very happy it was explained to me the degree of heat because this was perfect to taste some heat but not be overwhelmed by it. I like to taste my food and never add hot sauce to anything as a reference. I was asked multiple times if I needed anything else and if everything was OK. They were so sweet and I am disappointed that I live in the neighborhood and have only just stepped inside, although I did return the next week. I highly recommend and want to see this restaurant protected.Parking: Located at the back of the Crenshaw Baldwin Hills mall surrounded by parking.

Nashville Hot Chicken at Hotville Chicken in Crenshaw, CA. Get a taste of the real Nashville Chicken introduced by the Prince's Family in 1930's that has long turned into a tradition. Once you've had the taste ... you'll be craving it ever so often. Perhaps is the 'burn' and endorphin release that make this chicken so addicting ... or perhaps is it's the flavor of the food (mains and sides) that are so perfectly prepared - chicken that's crispy, very well seasoned and juicy, deliciously cheesy macaroni & cheese, tender collard greens with the night amount of acidity, candied yams and BBQ beans that are just right with the amount of sweetness, black eyed peas & rice with the right amount of smoky ham hocks ... alls I know is that this place keeps making you crave and want to come back for more! After dinner I had a very nice chat with Ms. Kim Prince, who shared with me the struggles and blessings she went through with the pandemic. As with everyone in the industry, labor and finding qualified labor is a big struggle ... this day, it was just Ms. Kim and one cook in the back prepping and getting ready for the 4pm church crowd that floods this place every Sunday afternoon after service. In the front, it was also Ms. Kim with two other servers ... a very nerve wrecking situation when you know the storm is about to come through any minute. Ms. Kim shared with me the many unreal expectations non-profit / charity organizations (some legit and some just fake) had with their requests for food donations during the pandemic. As it is such a misconception by the public that all restaurant owners 'have it made' and are 'rolling in cash' ... when the truth is that rising supply (food and paper products) and labor costs have taken a toll on the profitability of the operation ... the pricing structures are less elastic and have no room to cushion any slight change in supply cost. During the pandemic, she also received notification that her location will be closing down for demolition in Spring 2023, as a developer will be clearing that mall and start construction on a residential-commercial community. This has forced Ms. Prince to flex and look at other means to generate revenue ... she now operates a food truck and also does pop-up's in the community to keep afloat. Upon completion of the project, Ms. Kim will re-establish her business within the residential complex with a much smaller footprint to service the community. On a more exciting note, Ms. Kim shared with me that the matriarch of Prince's Hot Chicken - Ms. André Prince Jeffries - will be making a personal visit to LA and have an open session with the public at Hotville Chicken for an All-day Friday Brunch on November 11; and also be available to visit with patrons / guests on Saturday, November 12 for dinner from 5 - 7pm. Ms. André Prince Jeffries received the James Beard American Classic Award in 2013 and most recently the National Fried Chicken Festival commemorated her career with its 2022 Culinary Icon Award, recently presented in New Orleans. If you are a fan of Nashville hot chicken, this would be a great time to visit, support, and meet the matriarch - Ms. André Prince Jeffries - while enjoying some great eats!

Hubby has been talking about this place ever since we went to Nashville. A family member from the famous Prince Hot Chicken in Nashville created Hotville with same recipe as the original one. We ordered the shaw chicken sandwich, half chicken in dark meat, mac and cheese, and key lime pie. (This is alot of food for 2 people) The Shaw Chicken sandwich - (3/5) I thought the sandwich was okay, but not great. The chicken is slightly tough and dry. And wish there was more sauce. It comes with a slaw and generous of fries. Half chicken (dark meat) - (4.5/5) The chicken was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I'm so glad it wasn't dry since the Prince Hot Chicken the chicken was a bit dry. It is definetly better chicken here. The only reason I took 0.5 off was the rub is better at Prince. It's a bit different but still delicious. mac and cheese - (2.8/5) It wasn't my favorite mac and cheese but it's decent. I wish it was a bit hotter in temperature. key lime pie - (5/5) OMG! you have to get this pie when you are here. so delicious! my hubby devour 80% of the pie in about 2 minutes and I was left woth a small amount but that satisfied me alot. It was a great end of the meal dessert. Overall great place if you craving some hot chicken. The workers there are nice and friendly. Definetly recommend to have a taste of Nashville hot chicken.

I always enjoy my food from here and order at least twice month. My favorite items are the fish and potato salad!! All the seasoning and spice levels can be added to fresh fish so if you're looking to switch things up, TRY THE FISH! The key lime pie is also pretty tasty too. Keep up the awesome work Hotville. You're a gem in our community ?

Headed back to Hotville for some Wings. Decided to make it a combo and ordered some greens and mac and cheese. Wings were fried perfectly and were very tasty. Greens also were well prepared. Mac & cheese had nice crust and made for an overall nice meal. Hotville is located in the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw plaza. There is plenty of free parking. For this combo I spent about $28, which is a bit pricey but worth it to keep this type of restaurant in our community.
