This place has a really cute vibe—definitely more of a bar with small eats than a full-on restaurant. It’s cozy, with a laid-back atmosphere, making it great for a casual hangout or grabbing a quick bite with friends.

The food is decent, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it authentic. It’s tasty, don’t get me wrong, but it feels more like a fusion or modern take on some classic dishes rather than the real deal. Still, it’s enjoyable, especially if you’re just looking for something easy and flavorful to snack on with a drink.

The vibe makes up for any little imperfections in the food, and if you're in the area for something light and fun, this place is definitely worth checking out. Just don’t expect the authenticity you might find at a traditional restaurant.

I ordered from Hui Tou Xiang. From the reviews, I was expecting some extraordinary deliciousness. However, the reality was a mediocre waste of money, for the food I got. Oh well, won't be ordering from this slop shop again. Sorry Hui Tou Xiang, just my honest opinion.

I just had an amazing experience here! The service was top-notch, and the staffs were super friendly and attentive.

The beer and cocktail selection is really nice, perfect for pairing with the food. Highly recommend the Sunday Funday!

Speaking of food, the dumplings were out of this world! The lamb and mushroom skewers were definitely the stars of the show. I also loved the soup dumplings and the "huitou" dumplings--so flavorful!

Don't skip the beef noodles, and especially the Liang ban cold noodles; they were a total game-changer.

Oh, and I have to mention the chili oil! The server suggested buying a jar and trying it with ice cream, and I was curious enough to give it a shot at home. Trust me, it's surprisingly delicious!

All in all, Hui Tou Xiang is a must-visit. I can't wait to go back!

Was looking forward to trying this place out. They have another location somewhere in the SGV. But we ended up here since we also had a show to catch at the El Capitan theater.

Where the mishap started, was the wait. There were 2 groups ahead of us. 1 couple and a group of 4 people. Then after us, other groups of 3 & 2 people signed in. Well, we ended up waiting a good 45 mins. Whereas, this group of 3 people signed in right after us, WERE SEATED WITHIN 15 MINUTES. Now tell me if that's right?! I noticed, but didn't make an issue of it obviously til the time we finally sat ourselves. Because the guy in charge of seating, seemed to ignore us for a good chunk of the time. When I finally saw inconsiderate bar folk finally stand up from just talking while seated for at least an hour (having finished their food awhile ago), we went to go stand by those seats because if this staff member was gonna overlook us yet again....I swear I was so disappointed already.

Well, the guy does come over, has one of his gal staff members also check the list and seemed to accuse us of skipping the waitlist. But I explained to the guy, that what he did wasn't right. To sit other people before us, that came after us. And then, he even sat down another couple after us AT THE SAME TIME AS US, BUT AWARDING them a table for 4 PEOPLE. Basically, we were the only ones that had a long wait time. Pretty sure everyone else only waited 20 mins tops.

Here we were, my husband and I being so considerate as to take the 2 bar seats at uncomfortable positions, and this dude decides to patronize us even further instead! Says they have to seat bigger groups first. I wanted to argue and say, "Then make that couple, community style share their 2 seats with another couple then! So all 4 seats would be efficently taken." Nope, he leaves the other 2 seats on their table empty. He got the nerve to ask if we were ok, thinking we were gonna give up our place and seats because of their clear unprofessionalism. Just wow. At that point, I mean I was pretty pissed. But we needed to eat, and I explained to him that we didn't expect to wait this long and needed to also catch a show.

So we ordered everything just as we were getting seated cuz time was now running out. Good thing we knew what to order and looked at the menu already. Ordered the lamb skewers, noodles, soup dumplings & leek pan fried dumplings. Within the hour of being served the food one by one, the last thing that didn't come out was the lamb. And to add more insult to our experience that said staff guy, indiscreetly told the gal working with him & in front of us, "Who's gonna tell them we ran out of the skewers?" in the most fed up type of manner. Wtf!

This was the last thing we were waiting for, and they couldn't be bothered to BE POLITE OR CONSIDERATE ENOUGH to let us know this at the beginning of our meal over an hour ago? Geezus.

Talk about disgusting customer service. Sad, because the food was surprisingly not bad. We were actually concerned about food poisoning from the leeks not being cleaned properly since I read a previous review people got sick from those leek dumplings. But we were fine.

I guess if we were to ever try this restaurant again, it'd have to be the SGV location. Because never again will we set foot in this establishment. The snobby LA vibes was the worst here! And I'm a valley girl, I grew up here, went to school in Hollywood. I've had better service at Michelin restaurants, better food internationally. Even the east coast, the PNW, the South, all have better customer service and food quality than this abysmal place! Yet these folk expect a nice fat tip? Hah. They did give us a slight discount for the skewers debacle. But that wasn't enough to salvage how they blatantly treated us. Never have we experienced such crap service towards us as customers. We barely made it i

We came in from out of town and had one restaurant circled as a must try, Hui Tou Xiang. It exceeded our expectations by miles. Of course the food and atmosphere is the star of the show but our server Mya elevated our family’s experience. She easily walked us through the menu with clear guidance and helping us curate an amazing lunch. She even took it up a level by explaining the 2:1 ratio of black vinegar to soy sauce with a dab of chili oil for our dipping sauce. We will be coming back on our next visit into town and look forward to bringing more of our family in to experience this local gem. Fantastic!!!

Hui Tou Xiang in Hollywood has become our go-to spot whenever we're in the area. We've practically worked our way through the entire menu, and honestly, there's not a single dish that we haven't absolutely loved.

Everything is incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the portions are generous. Some of our favorites include the scallion pancakes, which are perfectly crispy and flaky; the xiao long bao, which are juicy and bursting with flavor; and the pork & napa dumplings, which are savory and satisfying.

They also have a good selection of sake and draft beer to complement your meal. And whatever you do, don't miss the lychee fresh squeeze lemonade – it's incredibly refreshing and the perfect way to cool down on a warm day.

Parking in Hollywood is always a bit of a challenge, and Hui Tou Xiang is no exception. Street parking is your best bet, but be prepared to circle the block a few times. The parking lots in the area are insanely expensive, so we usually avoid them.

But honestly, the hassle of parking is completely worth it for the amazing food at Hui Tou Xiang. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed with the service here. There are very few staff members working, and they take a long time to assist customers. People coming to pick up online orders are sent back and forth with no clear guidance, and the staff shows little interest in helping. Additionally, online orders are prepared very late. This needs serious improvement.
