We dropped in before going to a show at the echo and had a really lovely meal! They were so nice and the food was amazing and reasonably priced. We got the caprese, shrimp scampi, and ravioli and I'd recommend all of them. They also brought out fresh bread which was delicious. Enjoyed our meal so much I completely forgot to get a photo!

This restaurant in LA is truly underrated. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining there during our visit to California. Our server, Max, was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. It's now my top choice whenever I'm in LA.

Delicious food and amazing service! Our server was such an attentive, kind, and friendly guy - I had called to see the wait for a party of 3 at 8 PM on a Friday night, no wait! He was very reassuring even when we were chatting and eating near closing time, we didn't feel rushed to leave which was nice! Shared 3 things - everything was yummy! 1) the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken 2) California salad (the candied pecans slap) 3) margarita pizza (so flavorful) And it came with complimentary garlic bread! Place was spacious, played jazz music, and the restroom was clean! Everything was yum, would recommend - especially on this busy block of restaurants with long wait times, check this place out!

This restaurant has great salads and pasta (gf and traditional). The gluten free penne is the best gluten free pasta I ever tried! The servers were kind and patient when we changed reservations, asked questions about gf options, and took extra time ordering.

This place has changed businesses more than any other joint here in Echo Park, but I was glad when I saw an Italian food restaurant at last. This is the second location of Il Saggio by the way, the first one is in Commerce. When I first came here they were barely opening, so there was no one but me as a costumer; I recently went back, and there were two more tables occupied besides mine. I love supporting new business and if they're in my neighborhood even more. The service has remained top everytime I come though, whether for takeout or dining in there. They're very generous with portions, cheese and their garlic bread. Ambiance is very chill and nice. Things I have tried so far are linguini alle vongole (linguini pasta with clams in a white wine garlicky sauce), margherita pizza (classic margherita and I love that their dough isn't as thick as other places), and capellini alle checca (which is angel hair pasta on a tomato, basil and garlic sauce; you can order it with chicken, shrimp or salmon). Everything has tasted amazing and fresh even the leftovers the following day. They're waiting for their alcohol permit so I'm sure they're be more busy soon. They're still new in the neighborhood and I truly wish them the best so they stay forever!!! Clean restroom. Street parking or paid lot on the back.

What a delicious little surprise this place is! My partner and I passed on two other Italian places nearby with 1hr+ waits that probably didn't have food as good as this place. Great service and atmosphere and the prices are great with good sized portions.

Food was excellent, the place was immaculately clean, and they were super friendly and sweet. Feels great to find a place like this with such good prices!

Il saggio opened recently on sunset in echo park and we decided to drop in and give it a try on a Sunday night. There was no wait for a party of 4 around 7pm. Everything we ordered was solid. The calamari was hot and crispy; pastas were good with sizable portions. The free bread was honestly one of the highlights too with each piece covered in garlic and edges were crisped. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area and in the mood for Italian

Pleasantly surprised by the deliciousness we stumbled upon in this hidden gem. I had thr chicken marsala and it was perfection. My daughter had thr spaghetti bolognese which far exceeded our expectations. The service was warm and friendly! We will visit again when we are at the Echo!

I didn't really have any expectations but this resturant ended up being amazing and just what we needed. The shrimp scampi & ravioli was delicious and the service was great! Can't wait to come back

Came in tonight with my boyfriend to get some garlic bread and they went above and beyond here! We've walked past this place several times and have always been curious about it and decided to go in and again it did not disappoint. Our server, who I believe was also our chef was so sweet and accommodating, he even let us sample some ravioli! It truly made my night and the ravioli was so delicious; the pasta was cooked to a perfect Al dente and the sauce had a nice kick to it, we will definitely be back!!
