The best Caribbean food I have ever had! Jeff makes everything with love and with the best ingredients. It's like you're taking a trip to Trinidad.

Found a broken bottle top in my rice, could have cut my throat and chocked to death, was that swept off the floor? The reviews have to be fake. Entire experience left me thinking I had eaten food scraping of the floor and they forgot to dig around for unwanted particles!

Friends were meeting here, and I must say it does have a nice large dance floor. However, street parking is difficult. And drinks are extremely expensive... $16-21 for a simple gin and tonic or glass of wine. And the drinks aren't even strong! Staff is pleasant enough, but I won't be back.

Island Boy Cafe has a great atmosphere for events. My organization and myself trust them to deliver.

I be will let the photos speak for themselves! Don't do it! You've been warned! The owner really should be ashamed of himself!

We had an excellent breakfast there on a Friday morning. This is not a place to come if you are in a rush. It was definitely managed by people who care about their customers and the food they serve. The staff was very friendly and they were all family to one another so they take pride in what they deliver. We sat outside and the set up makes you feel like you are in a small restaurant in the Caribbean. Just gorgeous. Will be back there again.

Made the rsvp through the open table table only to get there and was told it was closed for a event. Why let people book rsvp if your not open. Just disappointed because I drove all the way there for nothing.

The welcome and service is so warm, inclusive, loving of all walks of life. The drinks are fantastic especially one I know has 2 or 3 different rum! The food is sublime! The kind of restaurant that becomes a go to any night or perfect for a date.

Everything was perfect except my food lacked flavor and was one of the most expensive on the menu. Service was great and so was the ambiance. It's off a busy street but was still relatively quiet for an early Saturday afternoon brunch with friends

Shakshuka was very bad with tomato ketchup and sliced uncooked tomatoes mixed together as gravy and very dry tasteless bread on top of that. The space has a lot of dirt too. The omelette was okay but the toast was not a real toast; just dry bread. Also they said they cannot make crepes but it was recommended on the reviews and still mentioned on the menu! Very bad food

I had read an article about this food. Looked a reviews got excited. Made a reservation on Open Table got a confirmation. Pulled up with my family! It was dark and closed. Unprofessional and very sad. I really wanted to support his establishment. I called and the voice mail was full. No updates about business hours on the front door! Nothing! What a waste of time. Back to A Beautiful Life Jamaican Cafe in DTLA. They are open from breakfast brunch and dinner every day and especially on Sunday. Or Poppy and Rose one of the best roof top brunches around. Both black owned! They open when they say they will.
