I had fish cutlet, pork cutlet, buckwheat pollack roe udon, and chicken karaage, and it was good. It was even better that they provided a baby seat...Kid-friendliness: It was nice that they provided a baby chair.

My toddler wanted sushi and my in-laws wanted izakaya so I was excited to try Mi Young. The Yelp reviews and Instagram photos looked promising but there's nothing special about this restaurant. We dined right when the restaurant opened at 5 p.m. so the restaurant was empty and service was not great. We had to keep ringing the bell and the server couldn't answer any questions. The sushi is basic and the premium platter is not worth $70+. There was tuna, salmon and the rest were white fish. There was nothing premium about it except the cost. On Instagram, the photos had. A lot of variety, including uni and scallop. Before we ordered the platter, we asked what we would get and the server just said 'chefs choice'. I asked if the sushi on the wall was available and the server didn't know. The skewers were better and the meat was tender. There are much better restaurants in Koreatown than Mi Young.

I've been in LA for work, and for the last two months i've been waiting to try this place because i had heard good things. Also, from the photos , the ambiance reminded me a lot of the izakayas I used to frequent in shibuya back in the day. Unfortunately when I went there for a late dinner tonight, I was denied because I didn't have an identification card for my service dog. I didn't have the mental capacity or energy to fight it, but this is breaking ADA which is a federal law. The regulations are online at the US department of justice civil rights division and it clearly states "When it is not obvious what service an animal provides, only limited inquiries are allowed. Staff may ask two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person's disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task." Please be more receptive to disabled patrons. It was challenging enough to walk all the way there, but to be denied and then have to walk all the way back was very dejecting.

3rd time here and it's always a pleasure. You'll find us at the chef table. One of the best deals for sashimi in my opinion. So fresh and the cut is nice and thick. I love that it's a hidden gem under the stairs lol. It's laid back and very chill. Services is on point and the workers know what they are doing. I wish they they would serve more from the old menu but everything is good so I can't complaint. This is my go to for late night eating and relaxing.

They changed their menu completely :(. This used to be my favorite hidden Korean sushi place. They used to have a miyoung special with all the good stuff for a reasonable price. But when we went recently - it has completely changed. Quantity is smaller and quality also went down. I'm sad cause I can no longer bring my out of towners here.

We came here spontaneously for Valentines Day and this hidden cozy spot showed us lots of love in terms of their friendly staff and amazing fresh sashimi. We ordered the small sashimi plate for 2, along with some skewers and soju. Will definitely be coming back with friends in the future to explore more of the menu and eat more sashimi!

Deffinitly one of my favorite isakaya spots. But not just because of the quality. It's the atmosphere and just pure enjoyment of being here and creating good memories with friends. The quality of food is decent though it's their sauce that Carries them but I'm sure that sauce could be made at home hahaah regardless deffinitly a spot I reccomend plus it's not busy like that and the wait is usually pretty quick!

One line review: Good neighborhood izakaya, yakitori place with cozy space, moody vibe, and good services What I ordered: Yakitori Menu Beef Chuck Flap Tail: , Amazing Pork Jowl: , Chewy & Juicy Beef outside skirt: , good taste but I liked chuck flap tail more Chicken skin: , good taste but burned too much could have been 5 stars Pork belly: , good taste but burned too much could have been 5 stars Scallion: , Super thin not the thick version just fyi Onion: Chicken Tender Meat: , Was not tender for me kinda like chicken breast Scallop: , Too small size and cooked too much Sashimi Menu Salmon Sashimi: , good! Nudge Feedback Slow yakitori delivery. They deliver all at once not one by one when each gets cooked so some gets cold before delivery I feel like the yakitori meat is marinated super well but when grilled, they keep burning too much. If it's not grilled too much, very solid yakitori place
