Had lunch at Jade Wok near Chinatown and honestly, it hit the spot. The standout for me was definitely the sweet and savory spareribs. They’re sticky, flavorful, and perfectly tender with just a bit of chew. Exactly how you want Chinese-style spareribs to be. The glaze is rich and garlicky with a nice hint of sweetness, and the green onions and sesame seeds on top gave it a nice little pop.

We also got the stir-fried greens, which were super simple but fresh and cooked just right. A little crunch, a little tenderness + great as a balance to the heavier dishes.

And the braised tofu with minced pork came in a deep, savory sauce that soaked into the tofu beautifully. The tofu was fried just enough to give it some texture on the outside while staying soft inside. Super comforting.

It’s not a fancy spot, but the food comes out hot, portions are generous, and everything tastes like it was cooked with care. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want that classic Chinese comfort food vibe.

Best tofu dish I’ve ever had. If you come here, make sure you order it. Shrimp fried rice was great too, perfect pairing with the tofu and its sauce. Friendly and fast service, I’ll be back!

The house-made tofu is absolutely delicious, and they don't use any MSG. The owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Chinatown.

To be transparent this review is based on my father in-law, who is Chinese-American. He really likes Jade Wok. He often says how authentic it is unlike 'Caucasian' Chinese restaurants. He's probably right, because as a European German/Ukrainian it wasn't my preference. The portions are huge and the staff was super friendly. I don't doubt this was 'authentic'. Recommended.

Hands down the best Chinese Food ever! I was recommended this gem by a teacher at IAO and it didn’t disappoint. The beef is so tender and the noodles are cooked to protection! I’d give it 100 stars if I could .

Amazing family owned restaurant. I heard they make their tofu in store and it tastes great. There isn’t much parking space near the property so I recommend you get a spot quickly or call in for pickup.

This is one of my top 5 places in LA. The service is amazing, super friendly and kind. And the food, IS SO GOOD. The tea smoked duck, homemade tofu and sesame chicken are unbeatable (to name a few). Jade wok is always in our rotation, we come here at least once a month.

I’ve been coming here for over 5 years and considered this place one of the best value and tasting Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. Not sure what happened, but two of the regular chefs were not there and the lady that is usually in the front of the house was cooking. I usually get my shrimp with scrambled eggs, house made tofu and hot and sour soup.

The shrimp and scrambled eggs was much smaller than usual as it was filled in the take out container. The house made tofu used to be two large tofu blocks, but today it was 8 smaller pieces with almost no minced meat in the sauce and it was a bit bland!

The hot and sour soup did not have much bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms and Lilly buds. The soup was more sour and less balanced than usual. Needless to say, I didn’t enjoy the meal like before. If the chefs are gone, I will have to find another place because there is not value proposition anymore due to the increased prices. I’m disappointed how much the taste changed!
