Not special in any way. A mixed menu with no focus or style. Had squash blossom starter and potato chip house specialty but underwhelmed despite well prepared. Had the 12oz ribeye. Cooked perfectly to med rare but was thin and the absence of a bone seemed like some zing was missing; it was good, just not great. Tonight was our second time visiting Jar for dinner and it did not disappoint. I’m so glad upscale dining still exists in LA. It’s refreshing to be in a restaurant where you can hear each other speak and not have to fight with the music. The meal was so good, I want to try and make it a point to visit more often. I took someone very special to me to Jar for the very first time and I say that she and I had an incredible evening. The ambiance was amazing, the staff was welcoming and hospitable. And the food was exceptional per usual. My girlfriend now understands why I love this place so much and we will be returning often.
