Staff was so friendly and food was excellent ! Can’t wait to go back 🥂
I had heard about Jay's bar for a while, but had unfortunately never visited until last night. I visited with a group of 7 friends. The ambiance was great. It had a local bar vibe with the bartenders knowing most of the patrons names and drink orders before they even sat down. Our bartender, Constantine, made us feel like we had been going there for years. He recommended several drinks to our group and all of them were delicious. The drinks were strong and perfectly mixed. He even prepared mocktails for several people in the group after they finished drinking for the night.
During our night out our group ordered Tonkotsu ramen, chicken Karaage, steak fries, Japanese croquettes, and the burgers. The food was delicious and the portions were large. We all had a great time and will definitely be back within the next week. This is our new spot for fantastic drinks, food, and fast service. Thank you Constantine and everyone else who attended to our group last night. You guys are the best!!!

Amazing food and service!!! Definitely a hidden local gem! Sarah is amazingly!
The place is clean and friendly, but it has two hidden surprises. The food is fantastic... It is a hidden gem for appetizers and snacks...
And the bartender is both hot and friendly, but the best part... He will tell horror stories if you sit at the bar and hands him a tip and just say 'tell me a story' his name is Constantine

Jay’s Bar is definitely one of the overlooked watering holes in Silverlake. Nestled in the same minimall complex as Garage Pizza, it provides a warm, cozy atmosphere within its brick walls. Besides great drinks, it also offers delicious Japanese-American food until 10:00 PM. They usually have great movies playing on the Criterion Channel, along with sports. Also, on Wednesday nights they host Sal’s Trivia at 9:00, which is always fun. Come on down and say hi to the lead bartender Constantine, and let the good vibes relax you.
Really good drinks here, esp the green matcha cocktail is totally bomb. Chill vibes. Food is ok; though I appreciate that there are other Japanese inspired options like ramen instead of the usual bar food like burger and fries.
This place sucks, don't waste your time or money here

My server served me well until I came to pay off my tab. He announced to the whole bar that I didn't tip. I work hard for my time and money, and this person wants me to tip for the basic things. I asked him why it was necessary to do in front of the store. The food wasn't that good . Was McDonald's quality. I would spend less on a mcdouble and fries there..I was trying to experience something new, and this place isn't it. The drinks are good, but expect to tip or else they are going to call you out. I'm not back. They only treat white people with respect. They don't care about colored customers with respect. If you aren't white don't come here.

Basically, $7 for a mediocre cab sav and basic bun-and-patty burger is ok for a happy hour. What is not okay is to discover that - even though it says nowhere that happy hour is only m-f - you've been charged $14 for both. The burger, honestly, could've had a better one at mickey d's across the street for $3. I know these are inflationary times, but c'mon. Even for silver lake this is outrageous.

First time dining in here it's okay to be reminded during Happy Hour to keep all menu pricing under $20.00 per menu item and before/thereafter depending on the item as to vary but more than $30.00 per menu item. This is in regards to pricing restaurant cleanliness service etcetera this is for previously and currently and not just here.

The bartenders were so sweet. This is a great bar for that neighborhood feel. I will definitely come back when I'm in town.
