I got their Famous Fire Chicken lunch.
Here is what i got.
The batter is thicker than my winter coat. The fries 100% re-fried.

Real Americana feeling evoked by this favorite breakfast joint. Great bacon, biscuits, fried chicken, eggs and all the rest. They treat everyone like family here. Cosy, honey feel.

Overhyped. The service is so slow. Sat for almost 45 min before our food arrived. The pancakes were mushy, hash browns not crispy, and the famous “biscuits from heaven” tasted like nothing more than flour. Not worth the $30. However, the atmosphere is really nice and has a real community feel.

Food is pretty good, but the service left a LOT to be desired. Considering the price of the food and the terrible service, I would not recommend eating here. Biscuits were underdone. We had to practically beg for coffee and cream. Waitress was hardly around. Forgot toast for one of the table members. Nobody pre-bussed the tables so we were staring at dirty plates long after we were done eating. Just a lot of things that service needs to improve on. Sundays are always busy, but maybe they need more staff so that servers can adequately service the tables. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Love the place/staff, BUT hate that if you want to add a few things to your pancakes (ie, pecans, banana, whipped cream), it's an additional $12+?! Kinda ridiculous.

The egg kind of tasted eggy. I don’t know how to say it in English, fishy? I got the bacara

Very mid biscuits.

I have lived in the area for a while but never stopped by this place even though I see the line all the time. I think what separates this place from other restaurants is the cozy, warm, and friendly atmosphere. The food is fantastic! Don't get me wrong. But when you walk into the place, you feel like you are in someone's home and waiting for a holiday meal. I will be coming back!

Second time visiting this location. 1st time it a To-Go order and decided to come back.
Both times you are greeted with a Smile and Welcoming attitude.
The staff is Super Friendly. I honestly experienced a Family gathering.
The waitress remember us from our To-Go order. Weeks have passed and even remembered where we sat to wait.
I ordered Señor Donn's Latino Heat. Maybe I didn't like because I even licked my plate. Very tasty with a little hit. The biscuit with thei Jelly, well, your mouth is in Heaven

Finally made this institution on Pico for breakfast. Immediate impression was I loved the atmosphere - the local and family feeling is palpable . Many customers are greeted by their first names and the staff were cheery throughout despite constant crowds arriving. And then!!! The "famous' biscuits arrived (with our mini breakfasts). "Biscuits from heaven" is an understatement. My cheese and scallion biscuit was phenomenal as was my husbands plain one, that I had a bite from with butter an jam. Just yum. How anyone can eat the two biscuits you get, I don't know? But we were very happy to take these home. Thank you Paul and team for my best L.A breakfast experience in quite some time.
