Best dakdoritang ever. I even had good ones in korea, but this one is real. Not too sweet or salty like typical kfood in the states. Its a bit spicy though.

The phrase “hidden gem” gets overused a lot in LA but there’s no other way to describe this place. Called ahead to reserve one of the two tables, and while on the phone the owner Jeff asked if we’d like to put the order in on the phone so they could start cooking it since it takes about 30 minutes to make. We arrived about 20 minutes later and he greeted us warmly and sat us down, quickly bringing out the banchan followed by white rice and ginseng soup to start. After a little while the main event, the galbi jjim came out, and Jeff cut it all up and took out the bones table side while chatting with us. It was absolutely delicious in every way. Less sweet than the version at a more popular local place that we’ve been to before. Perfectly balanced. Such a great price for a massive portion, with above and beyond hospitality. Jeff, you’re the man!

My favorite Korean restaurant in Los Angeles. You gotta try their Daegu Jorim
Great Korean food! Limited tables (just one actually) so call in advance if you want to dine in.

ONE OF MY FAVS IN LA!!! Whenever I crave comfort food, or have guests and want to wow them, this is my go-to. The galbi Jjim is phenomenal.

Very important to reserve a table as there are only two. Mainly a take out place. Chicken soup is amazing. Owners are very welcoming.

My husband and I had the most incredible meal at Jun Won Dak. The owner Jeff was so friendly and gracious and we were able to get seated at one of the two dine-in tables inside.
We ordered the braised black cod and wanted to try another dish and Jeff suggested the samgye-tang. He explained that the broth was full of ingredients and herbs from imported Korea. It was the most delicious samgye-tang I've ever had, the cornish hen was so tender and the flavors were well-balanced. The eun daegu jorim was absolutely insane, the dish was somehow so rich but didn't feel heavy at all. The cod was tender and radishes soaked up all of the amazing sauce. The banchan was also delicious and so unique.
Jeff was so sweet hosting us and chatted with us during the meal. We are so eager to come back to try the other 2 dishes on the menu.

I mean, how special can a little Korean takeout place be? Incredible!
Go go go! And bring friends because not only is this food phenomenal, but portions are huge. Plus Jun Don and his mom make you feel so at home. 🙏🏻

Mostly a take away set up, but you can call ahead to book the one table on site. We feel super lucky to have booked the table on our family trip. You feel like you are in the chef owner's home, with the amazing service and the soul satisfying meal options. They import select ingredients from their contacts in Korea, so as to assure an authentic and best quality experience. The flavors when they fill your mouth let you know this is the real deal. If you get the chance, have a chat with the personable owner. We will support this mom and son restaurant whenever we are in the area.
