Their teas are always great! All I can say is they their coffee tends to be on the more acidic side, so be aware of that. Anyways, lovely place!

This is my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood. Coffee is pretty good. I always get drip here and it’s consistently good. Im a bit of a snob for coffee who makes aeropress every morning, so trust me when I say the drip is pretty good. Also, everyone is so nice and personable. The owner Carlos is talented in design and the unique midcentury interior inside the coffee shop brings out the zen in me for some reason. Im a local in the neighborhood and Jurassic really brightens up the corner of Midcity, so I always appreciate their presence beyond just serving great coffee. They just launched the kitchen so I have yet to try their foods but Im always cheering as a customer for their growth :).

Super cute place but the matcha in my drink was nonexistent. It literally tasted like only oat milk and you can see by the color they barely used any. I’ve never had a matcha taste less like matcha lol. I paid $8.50 for what was pretty much a cup of iced oat milk lol

As of yesterday, I made my last purchase at Jurassic Magic after going there almost daily for the past three years. I live within walking distance, and for a long time the convenience made it seem reasonable. It no longer is.
The price increases have been extreme and unjustified. A single black espresso has gone from $3.50 to $4.50 and now to $5.50. This is for a house blend that is often bitter and inconsistently dialed in. There has been no improvement in quality. A gallon of gas now costs less than a single espresso shot here. Let the absurdity of that sit.
As the shop has grown in popularity, there has been a clear disregard for the majority Black and Brown neighborhood it operates within. Customers regularly block driveways and double park in the alley, making it difficult for residents to leave their homes. One of my neighbors needs unobstructed access to take her mother to chemotherapy.
Customers also routinely park on designated no parking days meant for street sweeping, preventing the city from cleaning the street every Monday and Tuesday. The result is visible. Built up debris, flies, and waste accumulate along the curb for weeks at a time.
Residents have asked staff if signage could be posted to discourage blocking alleys or violating parking rules. The request was declined. Maintaining a certain aesthetic appears to take priority over basic consideration for the surrounding community.
The only consistently good thing here is the staff, who are genuinely kind and professional. The cishet male owner, however, is maybe one of the rudest business owners I have encountered. His behavior reads as dismissive and profit driven, with little regard for customers or neighbors. The community programming rhetoric feels hollow. There is no meaningful collaboration with people who are actually from this place, which makes the branding especially cynical.
This is how displacement happens. Not all at once, but through small and repeated choices that prioritize image, trendiness, and revenue over access, cleanliness, and accountability. The coffee is fine. I have had better elsewhere. I will be taking my money there and encouraging my friends and colleagues that go here to do the same.

I came here a few years ago right before my flight home and it was lovely! My coffee was delicious and I love their space, it still sticks out in my mind when I think of my favorite coffee places in LA.

My best friend took me here when I first moved to LA and now we can't stop going. I get the best dirty chai latte here. And the vibes are always cute and cozy especially in the fall. You should get the cinnamon roll if you like sweets, it's bomb!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The Matcha was whisked live and not premade, which I enjoyed. They use a good amount of sweetener and there’s no need to ask for more as someone who likes on the sweeter side. It was a good balance. I was really surprised honestly I didn’t expect it to taste like something. I would make it home in a good way. I would return.

Coffee is great! I had the Jurassic and my boyfriend had uncle buck. Music made the place lively and the theme was very artistic

Everything I’ve tried thus far is a 12/10. The iced gentle giant is sooo good if you like a cardamom spiced note. I just branched out, and tried the iced magic latte I believe with oat milk. This oat milk is top tier, no separation, it’s so smooth. The Cinnamon Roll is the best I’ve had from the tangy cream cheese frosting to the pillowy soft roll itself. Everyone there is so nice & treat you with such genuine kindness. Being new to this area, and finding a gem like this place is so comforting in this big city. They really put the ✨craft✨ in craft coffee. Definitely try Jurassic Magic, you won’t regret it.
