Have been to the other locations about 10 total times when I come into town for business, first time coming to the Brentwood location and the service was absolutely atrocious. We sit down, wait about 8 minutes with no water, a waiter comes up says they will be right with us. Another few minutes go by, a new waiter comes up and says the old one attended to a new table. We put in our order, ask a question about the Sake, and then get ID’d. I’m 23 years old, haven’t gotten ID’d in who knows how long, but I didn’t take offense because I understand its protocol. She takes our ID’s, is gone for 10+ minutes. Again, we still don’t have water, food, anything, and then tells us that we cannot be served tonight.Absolutely absurd and ridiculous. Bad feeling from the start at this location and was treated like a number not like a customer. Will not come back to this location again.

We love the food. Consistently good and well served. But what I truly appreciate is that if there is any problem, the manager listens and does his best to fix the issue. How refreshing!

Very disappointed, the restaurants says open. We went there just to see they have a private event. Drove from Calabasas to Brentwood just to see there is was a barmitzvah. They should have update the Google map and say closed.

WE asked for a quiet spot and were given back in the bar, which was moderately quiet. The issue was it was very, very dark and had to read the menu. Also, the table was smaller than usual, which we managed. If the lighting could be slightly better, it would be fine.

We were a aprty of 8 and celebrated a very special birthday. We were suprised to be seated in a private room but it made for the perfect evening for great conversation without loud music to talk over.

I am so happy I came here. Great service. Great food and get the fried rice and the katsuya roll. The katsuya roll sounds weird but it’s so good.

I loved the way it was decorated 15 years ago with indoor outdoor white and light decor I hadn't been back in so many years Good food not as pricey or special plates like years and years ago. We only eat this chain of restaurants due to high quality fish

We got there early at 5 and sat in one of the booths in the front of the restaurant . We got one cut roll and shrimp and scallop sashimi and a few drinks and that was it - our waitress was very nice ! Liked it there alot

I love Katsuya. Francisco was our server and he is THE BEST. Generally the ambiance is great, but there was a terrible cover band in the side room for a private party that evening. It was extremely loud and the band was terrible.

Love the miso black cod...a little light on the veggies and $10 for extra veggies gave me a few broccolini more and a lot of broccoli trunks. But the food is excellent as is the service! I'll go back again. And again. And again.

I haven't been to KatsuYa in a while and I feel the quality is back like it was before. I'll definitely go back again soon. My favorites were the albacore sashimi with Ponzo sauce, the yellowtail jalapeño, the spicy, tuna on crispy rice, and the lemon salmon roll.

We do love Katsuya and have been many times, but unfortunately there are always issues. When you make a reservation you shouldn't wait more than 10 minutes to be sat. When we come here, we always wait a while even with a reservation. Last time we specifically chose the dining room when making a reservation (the large space) and instead they sat us in the loud bar/lounge. We didn’t make a fuss, but this was extremely annoying because we wanted the better atmosphere. The food is always yummy but our server this time was also rude and it really ruined the experience. I do want to note that the food quality is always very good!! This is the only thing that brings us back. I really wish the restaurant would care more about the experience as a whole because it comes out to about $100 a head. For a cute night out, we stilllike it, but we just have low expectations for how we are treated…. and to be honest there are soooo many better spots in the area, we don't go much anymore!
