I understand not every day is perfect and I've been to Katsuya many many times and loved it. But last night was bad. I understand it may not be peak season but being that understaff was a problem. The service was unacceptable. The manager on duty would pass by us knowing how bad it was and would even acknowledge with a simple “we do apologize for the wait, we're working as best as we can to make it happen” nothing! I got an appetizer after I finished my meal. Order never put in. Bar drinks took over 30 minutes. I hope this doesn't happen again
We love this place, everything we tried was delicious 😋 specially the Misa-sauce, is out of this world. Everyone should give it a try.

The food is always delicious but the service could be better. It was a slow night and every time we needed something we had to look for our waiter. He also charged me for 2 drinks when I only ordered 1 and he charged me for 4 rices and we only received 3. I found the discrepancy on the bill and he fixed it for me but this isn't the first time I have been over charged here. He also tried to take my BF's plate when he was still obviously eating. I love the food and I was excited to celebrate my bday here, but if I'm going to pay $400+ for a meal I expect excellent service.
Convenient for the concert but wouldn't go back otherwise.

I loved the interior of this restaurant! So divine! Would come back mostly for pictures and drinks. The service felt pretty rushed and it was quite empty. Overall, I enjoyed the food.
The hostess that are normally so sweet were completely unhelpful. We asked for a booth that ended up remaining empty the ENTIRE time we were there. So we got stuck with the extremely uncomfortable and low loveseat in the middle of traffic. Our Friends that were celebrating their 50th also got stuck at a bad table as well. Our second round of drinks came AFTER we paid the check as we were standing up to leave. An unpleasant experience all around. You're our go to place every time we come to L.A. LIVE, so we're hoping this is a one off.
poor service, we were in a booth between two large/ loud parties... my husband and I could not even hear each other! we ordered cocktails, they came near the end of our meal. No one refilled my water... it was an expensive night too.
Arrived over 90 minutes before a game. Lengthy wait to be served and then waited over an hour and did not get our food before we had to leave for the game. Terrible service.

I think your restaurant needs to have a better way to show how large a sushi roll is. I included pictures from the website and the food that I got. When you order it on your website, it looks much larger, eight pieces. What I got, if you sliced it was probably only three or four pieces. I find it misleading.

Very disappointed in what this restaurant has become. I was last here a year ago and this restaurant was a 5 star experience. Now it was just awful and nothing about it is good anymore. The waiter didn’t even ask us what we wanted to drink, he just asked us for starters and they took 40 minutes to get. It was also very overpriced for its quality.

We ordered right when I sat down because we were in a pinch for time to get to a game. The waiter messed up our order and took FOREVER to bring us the rest of our food. We wait roughly like 20 min and to scarf down our rolls in less than 5 min to get to a game that had already started . Didn't get to enjoy our food as we were rushed to leave.
My husband, and I have eaten at this restaurant many times, but this time we were seated on the side away from the bar, which was a much better experience because it's somewhat quieter. Our server did an excellent job and was very attentive and I thought the food was better this time than it has been in the past. Having said that our dinner cost around $300 plus tip which, these days, is probably par for the course. The house fried rice was nothing to write home about and was $28 so I will not be ordering that in the future.
The food was exquisite and very filling. Service was top of the crème friendly and efficient. No wait time and very flexible on seating.
