When you \\u0026 your friend feels like having a sushi on a hot sunny Saturday. What a surprise no waiting. Got seated right away. The host was friendly and service was fast. We ordered our hand roll and sashimi. Just good enough for our cravings. The place is clean and cozy. Keep up the good work.
My favorite spot to eat alone. Salmon, Scallops, Toro and Lobster are all my fav with of course a Sapporo to accompany the yummy meal. I come here weekly and it hits every time.
Kazunori is a well designed dining experience. In their small, narrow dining space, there is one long bar where you are served fresh hand rolls. Food service is instant since they’re right there, and their use of paper mats on the bar instead of individual plates speeds up cleaning afterwards so they can serve the next party. While the sushi chefs do their thing, the managers and servers work around them by refilling drinks, ginger, etc. The vibe is nice. The decor is minimal and the lighting is warm. Unfortunately it’s pretty dark and it’s hard to take good food pics, but if you’re there in person, you’ll see the food just fine. I ordered the six roll set, an order of halibut sashimi, and an extra eel roll. The ingredient quality is very high. The crab meat is real and for all the fish, you can really taste the flavor. I liked the bay scallops the most, which had a mentaiko-mayo sauce, I think. The halibut sashimi was also seasoned with a sour, salty sauce, maybe ponzu. Unfortunately i was a little disappointed with the hand rolls. A big part I enjoy about raw fish is the texture, the way the fish meat just has the tiny bit of bounce as your teeth cuts through it. I can’t enjoy that feeling with their hand rolls because they cut their fish up into very small pieces. Another major problem was the rice temperature. The sushi chefs use the rice straight out of the rice cooker. This is terrible because the moisture from the fresh rice goes directly to the seaweed around it, so upon service, the seaweed is already soft. It’s not crunchy. The food is three stars but the service is five, I don’t think I will eat here again, just because of preference.
Got delivery. It was fast and fresh but I really felt the scam when I discovered that one side of my toro roll was actually NOT toro!
Beautiful, sunny location. With unchanged great quality. Always a pleasure to eat at KazuNori. Tuna and crab hand rolls are my favorite. At 12pm on Friday - no wait.To enter you have to go though the plaza, can’t enter through the main street door.
Been going to the downtown location forever. This spot is awesome and was way less busy. Same great food and amazing service!
Kazu nori is a simple yet delicious restaurant that serves handrolls made to order right in front of you. It has a casual setting and is a no tipping establishment. Went for dinner and ordered the Nozie set which was great. The whole meal was quick and delicious and easy to enjoy.
Overhyped maybe? Went in expecting a memorable meal but left wanting more. Handrolls were hit or miss and a bit too simple. A 9 year-old could make it. Think I’d rather save my money for a legit sushi experience or omakase. Nice interior tho.
We got the kit and 4 boxes of rolls. The kids loved the kit and each roll was simply delicious. I would come everyday if I could.
I was a fan of kazunori but i was kinda disappointed. Rice tasted good but it was bit too much. and the stuffing inside was too cold like it just came out of the refrigerator. maybe i was expecting too much. but i dont think i will be craving it to go back to at least this location

KazuNori is just wonderful. All of their food is great and you will be happy with whatever your order. The staff is super nice and the place is so very clean. The prices are reasonable. I love their 3 hand roll set menu which includes, a salmon roll, a scallop roll and a crab roll. It is a savings when I am trying to stay on a budget. We often just pick up, they have the best to go menu. Try the 16 piece set which has crab, toro, scallop and cucumber. It is so very fresh. You will really enjoy this place.
very nice place for hand rolls. They have very good on the sashimis too. We’ll come back ✅
Very tasty. The rolls are cylinder shaped like maki, rather than cone shaped like temaki (hand rolls), and were made with pieces I of fish rather than whole cuts. My yellowtail tasted fishy (read: old) but the sea bream and the bay scallops were delicious. The sushi rice was a little too sweet for my tastes but tasty all the same.
Such a rip off. Their fish is extremely subpar. Uni is out of a container that tastes slimy, like octopus. The guy who makes handrolls also wears the same gloves pouring out dirty water and opening doors. Prices are like $6 per hand roll, with mandatory 16% tips included. The rice they use is not even sushi rice… just warm boiled rice, cold container kept fish, and a piece of seaweed.Definitely not worth it. I think they get their business from ppl that are impatient with lineups at other better places in the plaza
This branch is better than the other one in downtown in my opinion. The nigori sake is way overpriced though. Just order the hand rolls because nothing else is worth it. If you are looking for really great toasted seaweed this is the place. The seafood is fresh and well selected. Rice was always made well with high quality grains. But it's hard to get full. Very small portions.
