I need to warn people: the carne asada and al pastor I ordered wrecked my stomach. Within hours, I was dealing with brutal diarrhea and intense cramps. Whatever they’re doing back there, it’s clearly not working.
The meat tasted okay, but the aftermath was an absolute disaster. I don’t know if it was poorly handled, sitting out too long, or just low-quality, but something was seriously off. I’ve never had such a bad reaction from food before.
I won’t be coming back, and I strongly suggest others think twice before ordering these dishes. This was a miserable experience.

Service is ok, however the food not so good. I've been to different King Tacos and their food was much much better than this one
The soup was delicious, but the overall atmosphere felt more like a casual franchise take-out spot. I was craving shrimp tacos, but the menu only had meat options. The tacos themselves were fine, but nothing special — it’s the kind of taste you can easily find at many other places.

The best and original location, the only one I frequent. All their other ones are too inconsistent in taste

King Taco in Cypress Park is our go to place when craving sopes and burritos. My husband went yesterday evening ( Oct.4 ). He got 4 burritos, asada and cabeza. And 2 sopes de al pastor. We were both so disappointed. The asada burrito was just fat and hard pieces. The beans were not completely cooked, they were sloppily made, like a three year old made them. ( wouldn’t have mattered if they were at least edible. The sopes were so hard! Like they were days old. They went straight into the trash. They were off their game yesterday! New employees? Short staffed?
After a fun night out in LA, my wife and I decided to stop at King Taco #1 since it had been a while. What a disappointment! The quality has really gone downhill.
Let’s start with the carne asada tacos the meat was completely tasteless, and the tortillas were even worse. They were hard, cold, and felt like they might have been from the day before. On top of that, the tortillas were noticeably smaller than your average taco tortilla.
The burrito wasn’t any better. The meat had the same lack of flavor, and the tortilla wasn’t even cooked or warmed properly. This isn’t supposed to be a wrap, it’s a burrito!
The sope was the biggest letdown. The masa tasted old or even expired, with an off flavor that made it hard to enjoy. The only decent part was the cheese and lettuce on top.
Overall, this visit sealed the deal for me. King Taco #1 used to be a solid stop, but with this kind of quality, I’m officially done with this place.

I love King 🤴 Taco 🌮. The carne asada nachos and the tostadas were amazing 👏. I can't get enough of the salsa verde. Service was good and the location is well lit, clean, secure, humble, and welcoming.

Back in the early 80's and mid-nineties, this was a place to go for that taco craving. Now not so much. Order The carnesada burrito and received a rice and bean burrito with extra salsa to appear as a large burrito. Tacos the size of a frozen pizza bite 😞

I been eating king taco for about 30 years mostly from this location. Yes I understand that they get busy and a few times my order was wrong but today one of my tacos had a piece of white paper inside that one they use to wrap that burritos it look like a piece of onion till it was on my mouth and I noticed it was paper eww and my sope was burn from that bottom it tasted bad. What a disappointment 😞
