Kinjiro offers an exceptional dining experience, perfect for special occasions. The uni risotto, thick cut beef tongue, truffle udon, and wasabi potato salad are must-try dishes. For a delightful starter, guests can enjoy the kanpachi with special condiments and sauce. The grilled beef rib slices are another standout, providing a delightful meat experience. The green tea soba, presented al dente, bursts with tea flavor. To finish, diners can indulge in the roasted green tea panna cotta. With exceptional service, a superb sake selection, and impeccable pacing, Kinjiro is worth the wait and reservation effort. The space is gorgeous, and the service is fantastic.
The restaurant is an intimate izakaya in Little Tokyo, with a good variety of cold and hot dishes. Customers highly recommend the salmon sashimi, fried chicken, agadashi tofu, wagyu, and the panna cotta, which is considered one of the best in Los Angeles. They also have a good selection of sake and Suntory beer on draft, making it a great spot for a nice date night.
The food is amazing, with highlights being the radish salad, wagyu beef, and the udon with mushrooms and truffle. The truffle udon is a standout dish, with the noodles having the perfect chew and coated in a rich, earthy truffle flavor. The beef tongue is also a pleasant surprise, being crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, pairing well with wine and the accompanying sauce. The portions may be on the smaller side and the prices can be quite high, but the service is warm and attentive, and the overall vibe is intimate yet lively, making it an ideal spot for elevated izakaya dining.
