I got here at 7:30 on a Friday 6/27/25 ready to make an order because no one answered the phone. Once I got here I was told by the cashier that they were close. I ask her why Google says that it's open until 8 and her answered was oohh we decided to close at 7 because it was a slow day. Please update Google hours

The tastiest Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles!!
I love the location and the colorful yellow tiles on the facade of KOMAL. Smartly designed aesthetics and beautifully thought out menu. The prices are fair for such quality ingredients.

Komal is an upcoming business with care and true craft behind every bite. Also the aqua fresca is super nice on a hot day and the pan de calabaza is everything. I dream about KOMAL!

The food at Komal is truly next level. There is marvelous craft and care and love that goes into this food. Honestly some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Los Angeles. It’s deeply rich in flavor. The milpa salad was out of this world. Fresh and expressive. The costillas tacos were juicy.. everything superbly unified by the best tortillas I’ve ever had in my life.

Tried the guisado quesadilla today and it was excellent! Will definitely come back.

I ate there because the line at HOLBOX was out of control. Buttttt this place SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!! Guys don’t need to line up at Holbox. This is great!

Second time eating here and it’s very good—love the handmade tortillas and the cheese is delicious. My only note would be some menu updates: a quesadilla isn’t quite a full meal, but you don’t necessarily want two. It’d be nice to have some side options or maybe include a small salad or chips with the item for a couple extra $.

This recently opened eatery at The Mercado la Paloma has already been recognized by the LA Times to be in the top 50 restaurants in the city. The masa is extra special and the tacos and tamales are skillfully prepared and presented to delight the taste buds! No wonder it has already been for a Michelin rating. It will be the second Michelin rated restaurant at the Mercado la Paloma.

I have never had this beans stuffed blue corn tortillas. The corn taste for this dish and the blue corn quesadilla were out of this world. The menu is small, but great. More chance for me to try different items. Glad to discover this place and not having to wait in line for the place next door.

I‘m so glad we found this little restaurant in Mercado La Paloma. The line for Holbox was too long, so we ventured to try something new.
We had Tacos Sonia and Squash Flower Quesadilla which both were delicious!! Everything had very well balanced flavors, rich mole and pipian, and even just the tortillas (from scratch) were the best I had. And the prices are very reasonable.
We‘ll be back for more for sure.
