I am SO HEARTBROKEN because I just learned this place lost their lease at the end of Jan 2023! I have been dining here for decades, and it has always been one of my favorite places in LA both for the incredible food & the wonderful atmosphere!I want to thank the owners & staff for decades of incredible dining experiences for the people of LA!

Absolutely love this restaurant no the owner at Michele and he is awesome. This restaurant deserves more than five stars.

Years and years ago, probably in the 1990s, I remember holding very firmly the conviction that Koutoubia offered the best Moroccan food to be had in Los Angeles.

It's like the good old days when the owner walked around and talked to all the patrons.

basically I still remember the day I went there and I told the guy I only wanna order food with less than $35 and he looked at me like I am poor guy which he didn’t know I had only cash with me. He was so disrespectful after I told him I only had $35 he was old Moroccan guy. I hope he will treat people better and not look down at anyone. If you don’t believe me try to do it with him and see his attitude

I have been at this restaurant and I would never be back.We reserved a table for 2, in advance. The woman refused to serve me a soup (harira) because she considered that is too light and wanted me to get 15$ minimum per person. Then, I added another thing on the menu and she was still unsatisfied. She told me that there is no soul anymore. THEN, I took another entree. She left us waiting 30 min before to say she can’t serve us because she has a lot of order for today !!!!How can you treat your customers like that ?!Never again. Very bad service

Went there last night for dinner - party of 6. Pleasant atmosphere - waitstaff was warm, friendly, and helpful in helping us decide what to get. The salad with beets was terrific. My party had fish, chicken, the chicken pastry thing (forgot the name) and I had the veggie couscous. Everyone seemed satisfied. We also had baklava and tea. Terrific tea! The drinks were delish - nice pours. I did not see the bill so I don't know the price of the items -- but they didn't mind us splitting the bill in three. Clean bathrooms, pleasant smell throughout the whole restaurant - nice and clean. We had such a good time that when we realized we were their only in-person customers of the night (we got there at 6 and left at 9:30) -- we were shocked. I knew I had to write a review -- people, get to this place! Keep it alive!!!! Food is great. The people are warm. We need to keep places like this going. If you have a group and need a place that will let you spread out, have fun and eat great food -- THIS IS THE PLACE. The music wasn't too loud so we could actually have a conversation. We parked on the street, but I think there is a lot too.

Absolutely amazing delicious and authentic food. Cozy and exotic setting. Have been coming here for years. Every time when I brought friends over, they are all very impressed

Really wanted to like this restaurant because the owners and atmosphere are nice but left very disappointed as the food wasn't tasty and it was overpriced. As another reviewer mentioned, the lamb came with barely any couscous on the side, which is unfortunate considering it was ~$34 for the plate. There was also a lot of fat on the piece I received and it tasted rather bland. Also, the "chicken" b'stila was way too sweet and had hardly any chicken in it. We left hungry and will not return.

The restaurant was closed! It's closed on Sunday. Why would open table let me do a reservation at a place that is closed. Doesn't your app know when there is a conflict and the customer requests a day or time the restaurant isn't even open? My guests all drove there to find the place closed for my son's celebration, then we had to stand there and yelp to find another place. Very unprofessional.

This is a wonderful restaurant -- the food is exceptionally good, the atmosphere is lovely. My former husband is Moroccan and we used to love sharing meals together here; the B'stilla was (in his words) almost as good as his Mom's, which is a big deal since if you know anything about family, that's not a small compliment. I understand that some people have had challenges with service but we have always been warmly welcomed and treated with the kind of hospitality you will only find in places like Morocco.

Beautiful setting. The service was very attentive and friendly (though it wasn't too busy when we visited). Tried the appetizer pastry with goat cheese, the lentil soup, the chicken couscous and the lamb/artichoke tajine. All were excellent especially the chicken couscous which had a spice we couldn't quite place (clove?) but was very good. Seats very comfortable. Would definitely return.

It was my first time here and the harira soup was good the atmosphere is great. However the service is too slow the owner and his wife take the orders and do food runner I think they ahould hire employee to ensure the service is quick.

I love Moroccan food and have been to all the best places in LA. But their cuisine doesn't compare to what you eat at Koutoubia. I've been going there for 15 years and the owner Michel, a French-Moroccan, is a great guy. The ambience is lovely and so are their tagines! My favorite is the lamb shank with almonds, raisins, and honey. Sublime!!!
