Bra I asked for light ice, not a smaller cup🥀
Good matcha tho half sweet is still pretty sweet. No bathroom and seating is only outside
This small café on York Boulevard blew me away with its inventive drinks—especially the citrusy Kumquat Sour and a smooth Hojicha Latte. The minimalist interior feels like a Zen hideaway, and the patio is perfect on sunny mornings. They rotate beans often, so every visit has something new to try. I also grabbed a bag of their house-roasted beans to brew at home. Definitely a local gem for serious coffee lovers

I heard of this place for the first time from a YouTuber and knew I had to check it out. I finally found time to visit the coffee shop. I make my pour over coffee at home all the time and wanted to try one by a real barista. Well, let’s just say that this place doesn’t make it better than mine. Theirs tasted very watered down. I also didn’t find it easy to choose the coffee beans that they sell because the roast levels are not labeled. Furthermore, their breakfast bacon burrito was nothing special. It was a little salty for my liking, but I did like the salsa it came with. Overall, it was disappointing. This place doesn’t have parking, so you must find street parking, which wasn’t easy. The service could be better. I’m not sure I will go out of my way to come here.

I heard a few times this coffee shop was really good but I am pretty disappointed by my first experience. New England was good but peanut butter coffee is warm in a plastic cup, they said it’s chilled but it’s not. Added ice the second I got home, also had to microwave my burrito at home because after waiting almost forty minutes for burritos that are premade and just toasted at the coffee shop (I didn’t know that before placing a pick up order) the cheese inside was not melted. Turkey and bacon burrito wasn’t good either I wouldn’t recommend they both had an overbearing meaty flavor my friend couldn’t finish either. I went when it was pretty slow yet it took forever to get my burritos I ordered a while ago and again I’m not sure why since there’s no kitchen and it wasn’t busy I had to get back and line and ask for it from the cashier because the rudest female barista didn’t want to get them for me. I politely waited without saying anything were drinks are picked up and she told me to go to the opposite side of the bar to pick up my food, when I asked her if they were ready since it was past the estimated pick up time she just repeated her last statement not answering my question. Again, no one was really busy it was pretty slow no reason to be rude or provide bad lagging service but I would have been more understanding about all of that if it was really busy. If it’s like this when it’s slow I can’t imagine when it’s busy.

Coffee for people who don't like coffee.
The shop has a limit on the number of people who can enter, they will yell at you if its over that number and its not easy to count people from outside. The coffee is bland and light. Even the black coffee tastes like water and still costs $$.
Probably the worst coffee experience I've had in LA

A little overrated. The Hong Kong milk tea tasted kinda weird
Got the Cloudy (peanut butter) three times in the week I was here. Would be broke if I lived in the area 🫣

Best coffee menu hands down with great seasonal drinks, beans, multiple cold brews, great pastries, just the gold standard. Lack of indoor seating is not ideal esp with hot weather and need more shaded area for the line outside (there’s a parasol but doesn’t really cover much).
Really wish they would expand to OC.

Enjoy a moment of peace in this cozy café filled with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Each cup is crafted with precision, using a variety of beans that offer unique flavors and personalities. The drip coffee here is especially impressive—carefully brewed to highlight the natural notes of each blend. Their delicate roasting technique and artful blending create a beautifully balanced taste. Whether you’re a casual coffee drinker or a passionate connoisseur, this place invites you into a world of deep, flavorful, and aromatic experiences. A perfect spot to slow down and savor life.

Can’t stop, won’t stop coming to HLP Kumquat whenever I’m in the hood. One of the best coffee shops around and most talented baristas in town. Oat cortado is my go to drink and I always try their seasonal offerings. The Cloudy is my current favorite iced drink. Excellent selection of beans and coffee making necessities. Online orders are super handy for the holidays for the coffee lovers in your life.
