Great coffee. The lattes and flat whites are perfection each time, perfectly textured. The line gets long outside but the wait is worth it. The interior is whatever, it’s a grab and go kind of place, although they do have an outdoor seating area but it’s not very atmospheric imo.

all their drinks are excellent and super high quality — love that they also have an amazing selection of tea!!
the baristas are also so nice, they saw i was standing looking at the coffee beans for a while and offered to help and gave lots of thoughts and preferences on their fav beans (i was shopping for a gift for someone picky and had never bought beans before!).
cute seating in their outdoor area.
there is no public bathroom just to note.

There wasn’t as long of a wait once we passed lunch hour on Sunday, although a line formed quickly after. But drinks come out fast so that was a plus. Their matcha latte was good, but tasted like other good matchas that I’ve had and my SO liked their espresso tonic.

Walking around eagle rock saw a line for this place - so we decided to jump in line and get some coffee .. we ordered the vanilla maple latte ( not sweet at all very subtle - tasty ) and ordered a flat white . They know how to make coffee ☕️ solid shop . Also the everyth ing croissant was delicious 🤤 they had a few tables on the side to sit and down and enjoy your coffee - small on the inside no where to sit .

Awful service and coffee. Completely forgot our drinks then made them wrong. Don’t waste your time with these incompetent workers

Kumquat is a great coffee shop in Highland Park. They did not let my friend use the restroom (she was well-dressed and did not look homeless at all) but other than that, the drinks were great and really well made. A little line gets formed outside since they have a cap on how many people they allow to be inside the store at any one time, which is a fantastic policy, even post COVID, to be honest. There's a great outdoor patio to sit in and the prices are very reasonable. There are also coffee beans for sale and all other assortment of coffee-related products for sale. I had the Affogato and my friend had the Minty Mocchachino, both great drinks. Highly-recommended if you're in the area.

GREAT coffee. Some of LA’s very best coffee, actually. And arguably LA’s widest selection of roasted coffees. But… it is December 2024 and unfortunately they are still adamantly enforcing inefficient pandemic-era crowd controls from 4.5 years ago. Meaning their staff is forced to constantly pull away from their work at the counter to herd people back outside in an effort to hit their arbitrarily low indoor capacity number. Thus transforming an already slow wait into an excruciating one. Not to mention the unnecessary tension and confusion this creates between staff and uninitiated guests in line. The result is some of the best coffee in town, yes, but it is ultimately served up in one of least inviting spaces in town. FWIW, I’ll be thrilled to edit this review when any of this changes. 🙌

A drink that Japanese people would never think of is matcha mixed with soda and flavored with lemon. It was very fresh and exciting!
