The problem is that the barbecue does not sell you only the meat!!! Each pound comes in a combo with tortillas!!! And if you live far away, by the time you are home, those reheated tortillas are not good for my taste!!!! And they don't want to sell you just the meat!!!! And that does bother!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible experience with the food sold here. It made me sick for 3 days, the taste was horrible, greasy and with a foul smell, like it was spoiling. Besides being expensive, don't buy food: they sell birria and tacos and I don't know how many more filthy things. I saw the woman washing meat and dishes with blood, grease and food waste next to the bread, it's really disgusting. If you want to get sick for sure eating JGonzales barbecue. sold in the bakery.

Don't eat anything from this place. We saw rats in the racks with the bread!!!! At first we thought this place was legit but it's rundown and dirty. We didn't bother looking at the bread once we saw that rat. How can they still be open like this?

Inside is Birreria Gonzalez and their food is delicious! Authentic, full of flavor, fresh food and hand made tortillas. These birria tacos stand out compared to near by patrons, the sauce they use is much better and very different but in the best way. The barbacoa and cabeza tacos are also very good. I recently tried the chilaquiles verdes with carnitas and I was impressed, every bite was filled with so much flavor, oh and the chips were freshly made and wow what a difference that makes in chilaquiles. They are open to any special requests and also take phone orders. The bread from the bakery is also good. You get the best of both here, savory Mexican food and traditional Mexican sweets for dessert.

Located between N. Eastman Avenue and N Rowan Ave on 1st St. Sweet bread and decently sized "bolillos" (aka french roll/baguettes) are found at this location. The baguettes are made in a way that remind wife and I the baguettes from Ecatepec, Mexico (located in the state of Mexico).A beautiful reminder of Mexico and its sweet offerings. Street parking is available. A bit difficult during morning drop off and afternoon pick up of kids (right across the street).Thank you and God bless.

How cute are their cookies? They are so creative. I love you sugar cookies made with an elote, concha heart, and churro design. These had to be pre-ordered and they were not expensive. The bread smells so good when you walk in. The cookies were not overly sweet. My husband loved them. Parking can be kind of tough. It's located right next to the post office. You can just park across the street or on Rowan. Check their cookies out at eastlossweets.
