Usually love the bakery especially for their cakes, but today the case was different. I put in my order for a dulce de leche came at 11am and my pick up time for 6pm. 15 minutes before my pick up time I receive a call that they do not have the cake I ordered (it was already paid for). When speaking to the worker they did not want to offer me a refund or discount. I ended up paying for a cake I did not order in the first place.when I opened the cake I noticed it was put incorrectly into the box. So when taking it out part of it was already ruined. So if you put in your order online always make sure they have the flavor you want or you'll be paying for a cake you did not order!!

The pan dulce is delicious, and inexpensive. We got the vanilla concha, Halloween concha, gava croissant, and cinnamon sugar bolitas. All of them where light and fluffy, the croissant was the only one with a real different texture, but all of them disappeared very quickly. All four items for $5.15, its a deal.

A good variety of coffee with Mexican inspiration. Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious and their conchas are pretty good. Their prices are comparable to other coffee franchises. I love their cold brew café de olla and their horchata latte. Make sure you ask for easy ice or else you get more ice then coffee. When you drop in take some ground café de olla to go.

Went in today to buy a gift for someone, I stood at the register forever holding my purchases while both cashiers were trying to talk to someone in the store who was obviously under the influence of something, I think she was trying to buy something but didn't have enough money. Point was I was at the register first and they both were confused dealing with her and ignoring me. At least one person could've waited on the line that was forming. I bought a cookie platter, tumbler and a gift card. The cashier asked if I wanted coffee in the tumbler, I said it was a gift but could I get the coffee in a separate cup, she said no it has to be in the cup; here's the thing, I spent $90 on merchandise and you can't throw the coffee in a separate cup. C'mon do better, both cashiers seemed like they weren't mentally there at all.

Service is great! Coffee is great! Pastries, great! Everything is great but the music: it's good selection but it's TOO LOUD can't talk or read at the nice table provided on the floor

This place used to be amazing but one of their co-workers was so rude. She gave me an attitude when I told her the coffee taste like pure milk and I wanted to get another with less milk and she said all the coffee are done the same.I have bought the coffee here so many times and I know how it supposed to taste.

Okay so i walk in with my friends and i need to use the restroom. the worker gives me an attitude and says i need to be a costumer to use the restroom. so i ask her if i can buy a cookie and she says “you need to buy something worth 5dallors and up” girl no i do not i don’t need to buy an overpriced drink JUST to use the restroom. i end up buying the drink and she rolls her eyes and leads my friends to the restroom. literally mad dogs us the entire time while we wait for my friend to finish using the restroom. get ur costumers on check.

La Monarca in Lincoln Heights is among my favorite bakeries and coffee shops thanks to its modern and inviting atmosphere, delicious coffee, and bread, featuring the best Mexican-style drinks and pastries.Located at the corner of Daily and North Broadway for over a decade, I discovered it a few years ago, before the pandemic. Shopping around in the area, I saw and liked La Monarca's recently renovated and upgraded establishment, spacious with high ceilings, large beautiful pictures of Mexican coffee, concha bread, cakes, and other treats, and plenty of tables and chairs--and even a few electrical outlets to charge my laptop and mobile when feeling creative. So I stepped in, checked out their menu, asked questions about some items, and decided to try 'café de la olla.' Meaning literally 'pot coffee,' this coffee is brewed with cinnamon and brown sugar. That is how I got hooked on this simple yet so freaking delicious coffee!I then ordered guava "taquitos," small flaky rolls filled with fruity jam that reminds me of another fav of mine, the Cuban 'refugiados,' or refugees--minus the cheese. I often upgrade to guava croissants to get more bang for my buck. While café de la olla and guava pastries keep me coming back, often in the afternoon because of their friendly customer service, I love that they also have other specialty and imported Mexican coffees like café del Carmen, café Guaymas, and café Oaxaca. They even sell some of these in ground coffee form for French press and regular coffee makers for those wanting to make fresh coffee at home.Other favs of mine from La Monarca are: conchas, empanadas, Mexican hot chocolate, and cold 'Tajín' drinks of flavors like jamaica-mile and mango served in cups with a ring of Tajin chili powder. If you are hungry for more serious food, the menu also includes burritos, tortillas and molletes. Also, very noteworthy, I like the fact that a small percentage of their La Monarca packaged goods benefit ECOlife Conservation, a nonprofit that promotes the protection of the Monarch Butterfly Biosphere Reserve In Michoacán, Mexico. Those beautiful migrating butterflies need all the help they can get as their numbers have plummeted in recent years. I love voting with my dollar, supporting businesses that support good causes, in this case, one cup of coffee at a time.

I greeted the cashier with a warm hello which was met with a blank stare. The burrito I was served for $8.50 was of the size and quality that the worst fast food chain would be ashamed to serve and it wasn't heated all the way through. On top of that, they only have salsa verde to put on the burrito. Literally nothing else. I asked Lupita for a refund, which she refused so I just threw the disgusting burrito in the trash.
