Food is delicious. Pupusa portions are large, makes you feel like you get a lot of bang for your buck. I tried the caldo de pollo, the mustard flavor is perfect especially when you are under the weather or those cold nights. I have been a patron of this small business since they opened. Customer for life.

La Parilla is a small Salvadoran restaurant on the corner of 1st street and Rowan Ave in East L.A. serving Salvadoran cuisine. My wife and I enjoy Salvadoran cuisine very much we enjoy pupusa and fried plantains with Salvadoran sour cream and black beans and other Salvadoran dishes. We came to the La Parilla after we drop off our recycled at the recycled center.
We we're very hungry and with a big appetite then we walk in the restaurant,we we're greet by the owners and they told seat anywhere we did and owner hand us the menu. We look at the menu it was a simple menu with classic Salvadoran dishes like pupusas,Fried plantains and other dishes. Then we decided to order my wife order the chorizo with egg Salvadoran style comesvwith fried plantains and black bean dipping sauce and cheese on the side.
I order the Salvadoran breakfast comes with eggs with vegetables mix in with the eggs black beans with rice fried plantains with Salvadoran sour cream black bean sauce and two Salvadoran chorizo sauage and Salvadoran tortillas. And my wife order a pupusa on the side.
We waited for our food we enjoy the chip and black bean dip and enjoying our drink my wife drinking her Jamaica of Hibiscus drink and drinking my coffee. The owner brought us our meal it looks so good we took a bite of our food, the food was really good having Salvadoran breakfast for the first time we were surprise how good the
food is.
The eggs with mixed vegetables were amazing flavors and the black bean and rice were good and the fried plantains were so good and using the Salvadoran sour cream were amazing and Salvadoran chorizo sauage were so good it wasn't salty nor fatty it was perfect. The Salvadoran tortillas were fluffy chewy and delicious good. My wife enjoy her chorizo with egg mixed and also she enjoy the pupusa.
My wife and need to come again to the La Parilla and try different items.

Delicious, delicious, delicious!! I finally found a place that has pupusas de loroco!! I would say this is a hidden gem for it's pupusas(not just cause they had loroco). If you're in the mood for some savory pupusas stop by! Nice, small Family owned restaurant. Super friendly people. Great prices(menu up-to-date). There are 5-6 tables that sit 4 each. Highly recommend!!!
They also refill gallons of water on the side of their establishment.

We ordered two breakfast plates, two drinks, and half dozen pupusas to go. Everything was delicious, filling, decent portions, and reasonably priced.

The experience that my family and I had was superb. The meal was delicious and we all had an amazing time. The food was amazing, we all got salpicón and a pupusa each and I have got to say it was one of BEST pupusas and salpicón that I've ever had in my life. I recommend this place 10/10. The service was great, they even allowed us to get some frijoles to go and we took our pupusas home.

Dropped in for a great fish soup (Sopa de pescado) and horchata drink. It was perfectly seasoned and loved the vibe at the place. Strongly recommend to check out when in the East LA area!

These pupusas are to die for! The encurtido and tomato sauce are spot on and complement the pupusas so well. The Salvadorean tamales are exquisite and every bit as tasty. The price is also reasonable and it is worth supporting small businesses like this one. I'm glad we have an excellent pupuseria right in the heart of Boyle Heights!
