We felt lucky to be seated for dinner during the Christmas holiday season, when the shopping center was absolutely packed. I got the Chittarine Bolognese, which was excellent -- the pasta was perfectly al dente, and the bolognese sauce was nice and hearty. My wife and daughter split a Margherita pizza and a salad, which were also very tasty. Service was fast and very friendly, and the atmosphere is quite elegant. We had a very enjoyable time!

what’s the point in paying high prices if the chef, bartender and waiters all don’t know what they’re doing?? horrendous food, terrible service, overpriced garbage

I rarely write a review, especially a bad review but truly this place is a rip off. We were 8 people that had dinner here, we had to send back 4 plates cause the food was terrible tasting and had ingredients that weren't listed on the menu. The drinks took over 25 minutes to get, once they came, 4/6 drinks were wrong. When the bill came, they had put drinks we did not order, and had left on items that we did not eat. The staff was nice but did not know the menu or much of what had to do with the actual food. For the prices they charge, I expect a LOT higher of a quality. This place is a joke of an italian restaurant and the only justification they have for charging the stupid prices is because they're in the Grove. Also, the manager really should not have that ridiculous customer service smile when 8 people all get up angry leaving your restaurant. Just because you weren't filled in on the situation is not our fault. Your staff should have warned you the minute we sent back 1 dish, and definitely should have told you about the other 3 we sent back too. Overall, terrible. It was my dads birthday dinner, we had two young children and everyone either hated or tolerated the food. LIterally do better serve good food if you plan to charge 45$ for a stupid pizza

They were able to handle our large 20 person group pretty well! Enjoyed the food, ambiance and quick service of this restaurant at the heart of the Grove. Calamares were cooked to perfection, soft inside, crunchy on the outside.
Pasta was cooked well and the Cream sauce was great!

Review of La Piazza*l
I recently dined at La Piazza, and while the food was absolutely amazing, the service was anything but satisfactory. My daughter and I had a lovely meal, but the experience quickly soured when we attempted to order food to go for family members who couldn’t join us due to illness.
We ordered a pasta dish for an adult and a kids' spaghetti meal for my four-year-old. To our surprise, we were told that we couldn’t order a kids' meal to go unless the child was present. This policy was not posted anywhere—neither on the menu nor on any signs. After spending about 30 minutes going back and forth with the waiter and the manager on duty, Kevin, we were told that this was their policy. When I pressed for clarity, I expressed that it seemed unreasonable and asked why there was no written notice.
Despite spending a decent amount on our meal and being willing to spend more, we ultimately decided to drop the matter and leave without the kids' meal. Just as we were about to pay and leave, Kevin returned, stating that the general manager had made an exception and we could order the kids' spaghetti to go, which they would comp.
We placed our order and waited another 15-20 minutes for our food. After finishing our meal, we finally received our to-go order, only to discover that they had only included the kids' spaghetti and not the adult pasta. This oversight forced us to go back to the restaurant and wait yet again for the adult dish to be prepared.
Overall, this entire process took an additional hour after we were ready to leave. The poor service and rigid policies were incredibly frustrating, especially during the holiday season when one would expect a more accommodating attitude.
I guess they have been scammed in the past regarding kids' meals, but that shouldn't impact genuine customers who simply want to enjoy a meal with their families. I strongly advise against patronizing La Piazza. The service was abysmal, and the treatment we received was far from what one would expect from a restaurant. Save your time and money—there are much better options out there!

Really disappointing experience overall. We waited an hour and a half for our food, which is way too long, especially since the restaurant wasn’t that busy. When the food finally came out, the order was wrong, and the quality didn’t make up for the wait at all.
The four-cheese pizza had a weird, funky taste that made it hard to eat, and the spaghetti bolognese was soggy and overcooked, like it had been sitting for a long time before being served. Nothing tasted fresh or well-prepared.
The staff wasn’t rude, but there wasn’t much apology or effort to fix the situation, which made it even more frustrating. It should have been comped for the moldy yucky pizza but they did not. I really wanted to like this place, but between the long wait, wrong order, and poor food quality, I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon.

This restaurant has amazing food and a beautiful view. Veronica at the front was so helpful and sweet, and the waiter who helped us upstairs was very kind as well—unfortunately, I can’t recall his name.
We love coming here to have dinner with family and enjoy the beautiful view. We ordered the vegetarian pizza, truffle fries, and rigatoni pasta, along with sangrias, and finished with crème brûlée. Altogether, it was a great experience.
We visited during Christmas time, and it was very busy, but hats off to the staff—they managed everything so well.

First off, great friendly staff. Food is tasty, but definitely lots of salt. The margarita pizza was decent. The only issue though is their utensils / cups / plates are simply not clean. Not sure if they need a new dishwasher or so, but there was lipstick on the cup 🤣and the forks and knives had crap on them.

The pizza here is very good! We felt a bit underwhelmed by the gnocchi as it was a bit bland but it was still good. The service was kind of slow even though the place was pretty empty, we had to wait quite a while to get some Parmesan and to get our check. The staff were nice though.

You pay just to sit by the fountain. I am a local and that’s the worst restaurant I have been in entire la county. The food is just gross. I gave it a try a few times and it’s just bad. A true tourist trap.

The food was expensive and bad. Pizza Diavola was undercooked (raw, chewy dough) and had 6 pieces of Salami on a whole large pizza. The chicken did not taste good either. The only reason I am giving it 2 starts and not 1 on the food is because we did not get food poisoning. All plates were chipped which is a food safety violation. Server refilled our half full sparkling water glasses with plain water without asking... 🤮
Just avoid this place.

La Piazza has lovely indoor and outdoor seating, including a few prime spots by the fountain if you like a little ambiance with your carbs. The food was good — not life-changing — and my cacio e pepe could’ve been smoother. Portions are solid, prices are… up there.
Front of house is great, but the bathroom feels like someone started a renovation and then wandered off. It’s dark, the drain is loose, there are mystery drill holes, and one soap dispenser has fully retired.
Still a nice place, just needs some love behind the scenes.
