I am absolutely floored by this place. I ordered food online and here I am outside of the restaurant and there is not a soul in sight. Idk if they shut down or not but they owe me $30!!!!

My mother and I have frequented here ever since it was Franklin and Co. (the best restaurant that graced the street). When it changed to La Villita Cantina we were disappointed but wanted to give it a chance; we love Mexican food but what Franklin had was beyond unique (the brussels sprouts were to die for). We've been giving it a chance for a few years and today was the last day. The food is okay, though very overpriced unless you do happy hour and too small of portions. Chips and salsa are never complimentary, unlike most Mexican restaurants, and their refills are not free, also unlike most restaurants. The waitstaff (the main reason we return) is always kind... except for today.Today was the day I said goodbye. Today, while eating outside as I always do (I have tourettes so I don't eat indoors because my twitches are very irritating and people never hesitate to make me aware of it), a couple's german shepherd kept growling and barking at every dog and person that walked by. If you've ever been around a german shepherd you know the strength of their bark... ear piercing. The patrons would not quiet their dog, named Cecilia, and the manager nor the staff would ask. If that wasn't enough, a man passing by recognized the couple and struck up a conversation while smoking a cigarette. The cigarette was overwhelming, it collected in the semi-enclosed outdoor seating area (small and with outdoor shades drawn); it made me cough, which agitated my tourettes as well as my migraines. I asked for my check and a to-go box earlier than I would've liked. When the waiter asked how my tacos were I told him they were good but the atmosphere wasn't. He asked me why and I informed him of the dog and the smoking non-patron. His solution? "Then maybe you should sit inside next time you eat here." Seriously? I sit outside every time I come to this restaurant, every-time, and I am told to accommodate a dog and a smoking non-patron? That was one of the most rude things I've ever been told. I'm already casted outside due to my disability now I am being told to go inside, where I will be a nuisance and definitely not enjoy myself nor will others, because of an atmosphere that no patron trying to enjoy their food (eating is more than just about the objects on the plate) would appreciate. Thank you for reminding me of my position in this world, below everyone and everything. How dare you.

Popped in because my mobile Wi-Fi didn't work after hiking the Brush Canyon trail. Asked if they had free Wi-Fi, and yes they had. We ended up staying for quite some time. Had nachos La Villita to share. And the margaritas we're delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Literally the best and freshest fajitas I've ever had. I got combo meat of filet mignon and Pollo and the meat was tenderized perfectly and both had the perfect flavor. Add in the homemade tortillas, real Spanish rice (not frozen) and the fried cheese, yumm! Really the best.

The best fajitas I've ever had. The freshness of the homemade tortillas and homemade Spanish rice were fantastic. I was also amazed at the tenderness and flavor of the filet mignon and Pollo. I can't wait to get back here, I had the Pollo enchiladas a few weeks ago and they were fantastic as well.

I went for lunch with my coworkers. We so happened to be here during happy hour and shared a few bites and some tacos. The food was delicious and came out in good time.We had steak tacos, shrimp tacos (grilled), chips, salsa and guacamole and fish ceviche.Everything was flavorful and I would come back here.

Went during happy hour. It was packed. The service good and prompt.I enjoyed the Villita nachos:Freshly fried corn tortillas, yummy queso and packed with flavor. I could have done without the birria add-onI had the spicy watermelon grapefruit margarita—it was good.I’d definitely recommend and go back. My only negative feedback is the dogs inside the restaurant. There is a dedicated parking lot on Bronson, and timed street parking on Tamarind and Bronson. The walk paths and seating is too tight to have dogs taking up space. I love animals but I don’t like them in restaurants and grocery stores (around food).

Service is great but portions are a bit small. Beware there’s no parking.*Let me be clear portions are small for the price it’s best to go visit during happy hour. They do not have their own parking lot it’s either you pay valet or look for parking on a very busy popular street.

Staff was so incredibly friendly and the food was *F'ing amazing! I would definitely come back next time I'm in LA, especially for that Spider Taco!Vegetarian options: They make a vegan 'fish' I don't know how how they do it but it is so good! Great texture, hard to believe it's not real.
