I had the horrible experience of ordering a cake from the Lark Cake shop via Uber Eats on Instacart a week ago and then today, the expected day of delivery, 30 minutes before the cake was scheduled to be delivered, I got a notification saying my order was canceled. This is the worst customer service I’ve seen in a long time and I will never do business with them again.

This is strictly a post about taste and is not intended to be rude or mean, but to inform folks who may have expectations of a conventional cake and be disappointed like I have been. My wife does not even want to disclose how much we spent on this cake and agrees we will never get a cake from Lark again.
We got a cake for my son’s four year old birthday. It was a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and a white cake with vanilla frosting. It looks beautiful and the actual cake is not bad at all. But the frosting is offensive. The frosting on Lark cakes has very little sugar and the texture of waxy butter. It is not only a tease but ruins the entire bite even as the cake part is fine. Compared to a butter cream or icing on cake from Suzie Cakes, Vons, Costco or Nothing Bundt Cakes, the frosting has no flavor at all and a waxy butter texture.
At the birthday party several little kids returned the cake because they said it wasn’t good. We had nearly 50 people at the party and were left with more than half the cake left because people just did not like how it tastes. Now it’s sitting there on our stove and I’m just disappointed that we have this several hundred dollar thing that isn’t as good as a $12 cake at Vons.

Any who shop is always so clean and the staff is always so courteous , friendly , and quick 🙏 the cake was absolutely delicious ! It was a chocolate mousse cake with butter cream icing I believe !! Definitely the best moist chocolate cake I’ve ever tasted in my 36 years of life. The theme of my nephews party was Big hero 6 from Disney . He loved everything about it ! My sister is half way through her Radiology tech course and I ordered her a chocolate mocha cake . Again they did not disappoint . Delicious 🤤 even the fondant that I was never a fan of was delicious lol. Totally recommend . Specially if u have a design u want them to custom make for you. They will not disappoint ❤️❤️🙏🥲 so glad I found this gem 💎. Never letting them go as my go to place for special occasions ! Thank you Lark cake shop in silver lake ❤️‼️‼️🧡😗
The best cake I ever had!! Not only was the design unique and beautifully done, the buttercream frosting so was buttery smooth and not overly sweet. The Chocolate was so moist it was delicious. The cake was devoured in minutes everyone loved it as well

I ordered a wedding cake for my daughter's wedding yesterday. We ordered the lemon key lime cake which was the best! I usually don't like frosting that just tastes like sugar but this buttercream one is light, creamy, and tasty! The delivery driver texted me to inform they were enroute to the church. It was delivered right on time and in perfect shape. Highly recommend!!!

It was a joy to work with John, the owner. He was very professional from the start, listened to all my ideas, and was great at responding to all my messages.
On the day of our wedding, the cake looked exactly how I envisioned it—beautiful and perfect. Our guests were very impressed with the cake's aesthetics and flavors, and we received many compliments. Among the bakery desserts I sampled, Lark Cake Shop stood out as the most impressive in terms of flavors.
John was also generous with his cake samples and had the best flavors, which earned him my business. My favorite flavors were coconut, lemon crème, chocolate mousse, and red velvet. Again, if you're looking for delicious desserts or a wedding cake, Lark Cake Shop is the place.
The prettiest and best cakes. They did my wedding cake and it was a huge hit. Don’t sleep on this cake shop or any of their cupcakes!

Our cake looked old and was an unappetizing shade of yellow white and when I mentioned my concerns to the girl at the counter she couldn’t be bothered. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I thought OK, another bored service employee, it was a pretty grim atmosphere in there. But the cake ended up being AWFUL! OLD, DRY CAKE, and the FROSTING TASTED SOUR. It tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for two weeks. It was such an embarrassing gift. Someone else brought cupcakes from Vons and they tasted BETTER! Lark used to be good, but I’m never going back there again.
