Cozy place, colorful, lots of tables.
I just had a beer, but I'll be back.

The food is not tasty, isn't mex food.they didn't cook well, some dishes are old.taste bad.
We visited this place a couple times , and we enjoyed the food and the ambiance. But this time , Not. this is our last time here. They charge for plates that you don't have.
Just be careful when you order some food here. OverPrices on all, dishes.

i ordered the 7 mares soup and got a huge bowl of rich goodness, beef burrito was good, beef taquitos in avocado salsa were nice and the porl chili verde was piquante and tasty.
the tortilla chips are kept warm so they're extra crispy and delicious and the salsa is amazing.
service is very friendly
if i lived in DTLA it would definitely be a regular spot for me

Sometimes packed for the midday feastings of lunch or late breakfast, Las Anitas is more accessible as the afternoon comes to close but, their hours means an early dinner. The food is as one may expect of anything tourist-centric yet there is no diminishing the taste of little Mexico that is Olvera Street. A full restaurant, Las Anitas seems to have partnered with Cielito Lindo, which is located across the way and is world renowned for their taquitos. Yes, those crispy munchies are good but pale in comparison to another stall two eateries further into Olvera Street. Regardless, Las Anitas has a very tender carne asada, skip the taquitos. chicken Enchiladas are also que bueno!
Bonus for the cost conscientious are the daily happy hour specials such as reduced beer prices or a Kids Eat Free day midweek. Those fortunate to be free at three in the afternoon will usually find easy street parking with a short stroll and an inviting restaurant with ample available tables. Seldom is there any room left in the belly for more eating from other places of Olvera Street but that's quite alright. Nostalgia may hit hard if you've come to Olvera Street in your youth, why not let your taste buds experience the same?

I recently celebrated my birthday at Las Anitas in Plaza Olvera, and while I truly enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere and the festive energy of the restaurant, I must raise a concern about food hygiene. The service was warm and inviting, making the experience special, but unfortunately, my stomach couldn’t tolerate the shrimp I ordered. This issue left me feeling unwell and overshadowed an otherwise delightful occasion. The trip to ER was very unpleasant.
I strongly encourage the management to reevaluate their food safety standards, especially for seafood, to ensure all patrons have a safe and enjoyable dining experience. The charm of the restaurant deserves better food practices to match.

Had seen reviews here and decided to give this place a go. Couldn’t have been more thrilled with the result! I had Beefless Soy Enchiladas and my friend had the Calabacita plate. Both were delicious! Good service and nice atmosphere, too. #Veganuary
Me and my fiancé went this weekend for the first time and he ordered the Mole, it was very bitter and way too chocolaty so we asked for a different dish. when the waiter gave us the receipt, it did not show the Mole dish on their. BUT when I paid the bill online using my phone, it did not show me until after I paid, that I was still charged for the Mole. The bill came out to be more than what we were given on a paper receipt and we were completely tricked. The food is not that good so it’s not even worth the price. What I ordered were the beef ribs in chile verde which was really good. But the mole AND the chicken taquitos my man asked for to replace the mole, were a 0/10. I would’ve given a better review if we were not tricked into paying for a meal we did not eat.

I'm floored by how amazing the vegan options were. Some of the tastiest tacos I've had in the area and some of the best mole that my husband has had. The decor was beautiful and the staff were kind. This will definitely a regular watering hole.

i got the vegan chicken taquito plate and i was given morsels of the “meat”. i cut into one and it was 95% air inside and the TINIEST little bits of protein on the bottom. like when they fell out i couldn’t even find any on my plate. also they didn’t give me any beans. i was disappointed when i got my plate. just rice and salad. i assumed maybe bc the beans might have lard? but all the other pics on here have beans too?
Vegan heaven! Not to be missed!
Vegetarian options: Vegan creama and cheese! Incredible!

My husband and I love this place! It's a "hole in the wall" almost literally, and has some interesting history. Their food is authentically delicious and their guacamole is the best. We highly recommend it.
