It’s a walk up window.. the atmosphere on Pico is a parking lot. Take out only on Pico. I really really wish Loteria was still in the Fairfax Farmers Mrkt (vs Trejos.. which took their place.. and is passable.. better than a Chipotle.. but Trejos is no Loteria).

I rarely leave reviews, but holy shit this pollo asado burrito was UHHHHmazing. It was packed with flavor and just delicious. The hot sauce was smoky with just enough heat. I also had some papa con Rajas tacos. They were just as good. I've been to other Loterias before, and none of them compared to this hole in the wall. I think the owner came out and he was very nice and greeted me. Nevertheless, try this spot out!!!!

Just went here and ordered the chicken burrito with mole poblano sauce. It took about 20 minutes to be prepared. When I tasted it I understood why this is not fast food. Fresh, incredible taste, light and soft tortilla, the best shredded chunks of chicken breast with the most incredibly delicious mole sauce. Did I say delicious?!! Also the warm salsa on the side with chips was heavenly. Def coming back.

Jimmy Shaw and his beloved Loteria are an institution. The Rick Bayless of the West, if you will. I loved his stall at the original farmers market, loved his fancier restos, and now just as happy picking up delicious treats not too far down Pico Blvd. Recently enjoyed the chicken mole tamales served with extra mole, crema, and cotija! Meaty and delicious, no skimping on the good stuff here! And along with that three (3) yes THREE orders of pozole verde, my favorite. I ate one and put the other two in the freezer to tide me over until they have it again. Served with all the necessary goodies to make it perfect: dried Mexican oregano, chili powder, radish, cabbage, lime, onion& cilantro, and a few fried corn tortillas on the side. A perfect meal especially with these cold & wet SoCal days & nights of late.

I got a beef bowl. It was so good. I just wished there was more in the bowl. I found myself wanting more after eating it.

Ordered and bought a dozen assorted tamales. They were ready on time for pickup. They were absolutely fantastic, probably the best I've ever had. The masa was an excellent texture and the fillings were varied and delicious.

In a food court with three other food options so something for everyone. Two of our party ate from here and by far the best choice around the table. Loads of greens and good taste.

I've been a fan of Loteria for maybe 18 years... love the food and Jimmy is such a cool guy... Potatoes - papas con rajas - a reason to live Huevos - all kinds Black beans to die for Salsas? like you would not believe in every color... Maestro!!!
