The food here is consistently great, which is why I’ve continued to support this restaurant as a local resident. However, the customer service experience drastically changes depending on who’s working.

Whenever Jennifer or the older gentleman (I believe they are the owners) are at the front, I’m treated like family. They’re warm, professional, and make the entire experience enjoyable. Unfortunately, when they’re not present, the customer service is absolutely unacceptable.

There are two Hispanic women—one with glasses and another younger one—who are consistently rude and dismissive. They give major attitude over the simplest requests, like asking for sauce or requesting that food be made fresh. On multiple occasions, I’ve had to ask more than once, only to be met with eye rolls, pushback, and condescending tones.

What’s even more disturbing is that I’ve overheard them badmouthing me in Spanish—clearly assuming I wouldn’t understand. That’s beyond unprofessional, it’s offensive. I’ve also experienced disrespectful body language, like one of them jerking her hand away when I asked for a cup of water, as if I were dirty or a threat.

There are times when I walk in, see them working, and immediately feel like turning around. They create an atmosphere that feels hostile and unwelcoming. It’s gotten to the point where I hesitate to ask for anything, because I honestly fear they might do something to my food. No customer should ever feel that way—especially when spending their hard-earned money.

This restaurant needs a serious reassessment of its front-of-house staff. It’s unacceptable for a few rude employees to ruin the experience at an otherwise great establishment. I’ll be contacting corporate directly, because something needs to change. Respect goes both ways, and customers who are polite and paying deserve to be treated with basic decency, regardless of the neighborhood.

Awesome spot with fried chicken and chinese food who could be mad about that. The lady knocked out a big line really fast and it was so good. Will definitely be back. Huge portions and super cheap prices

I was low key waiting at the order here sign for a cool minute lady just started to give out orders I figured okay I'll get service when that's done but out of no where some other lady walks in she proceeded to serve here even though I was standing there for a solid ten minutes. Idk I walked clearly I wasn't wanted my friend send me over here to buy 3 whole fried chickens but naw I'm never going to place where I just get ignored

I walk 5 blocks me and my service animal. I order 1pc meal and ask for hot fries. She told the cook he comes out and said why? That's was unprofessional. I waited for 10 mins I received my food. As I walk down the street I wanted to taste my fries they where cold. I walk back it was a long line. I ask the customer can I please tell the lady something. I explained my fires was cold she went off on me in front of everybody and she embarrassed me in front of the customer giving me a long lecture o. How the fires was not cold. I ask her please give me my money back please. I video record her talking crazy to me. I never had a problem with this Asian woman. I will never eat there again.

Being going to this location for over 30 years food has always been very good and delicious.

It took a little time but over all it was delicious! The fries was fresh… very hot!!! Love it will be back when I visit LA!!

So close to my hair salon I HAVE to come and get chicken. I love them so much food and for a great price. Each location always hits. Don't be scared of the atmosphere and people hanging around. I just get and get out and try not to make eye contact

This review is mostly for the chicken b/c I've only had one or two other things besides the chicken. The chicken is always hot and fresh and so are the fries. I get family orders and all family orders are made to order. The shrimp fried rice is delicious as well. My wife says the gumbo was really good too but I can't speak to that. I don't care for the fish b/c they use tilapia. I wish they had catfish.

I’ve been coming here for a while now. The chicken and the gumbo hit and miss! I guess like most places. Today I ordered a small gumbo and a snack pack with a breast. The fries didn’t appear to be fresh but by the time I realized it I’d already left. The chicken wasn’t fried crispy enough and the dinner roll didn’t seem fresh either. Needless to say this was definitely one of those misses.
