Hostess was rude and pretended like we weren’t even there. Server was rushing us and very fast. Seemed to take more time with wealthier looking people. The whole staff was very very nice and happy with wealthier people, then rude to us because were younger. Also small portions that are over priced. The meal was okay I’ve had better with more portions and less of the prices at other places. Didn’t like the experience what do ever. Got the least expensive on the menu because the gnocchi was $30 for 8 noodles and it wasn’t even filled with potato’s.

Wonderful find at the Hammer museum. Menu changes daily and is very creative. We enjoyed every course. They offer a fixed prix menu if three courses or an ala carte option. I believe the three course fixed prix option was $75.

The Hammer is one of my favorite LA Museums, and I always love to stop in at Lulu’s for a bite to eat, the 3-course meal, or just a cappuccino (at the bar.) The food is inventive and delicious, featuring local produce. The courtyard setting is quiet, yet festive with the murmur of conversations below stringed lighting. Service is perfect.

Absolutely delicious combination of flavors and texture. I started with the beet salad that was a nice balance of beets and other flavors. Then I had the scallops with polenta and brown butter. Yummy. They have a very nice wine list with a variety of price points and options. Setting and service is Cal casual and lively. The jazz trio provided a nice backdrop to the evening.

Tried to go here for dinner around this time last year. Still remember in exact detail the disturbing interaction with their employee at the stand outside.

After a couple minutes of looking at the menu near the entrance, this lady rudely demanded to know what I was doing. I calmly said I came to have dinner at the restaurant. She gave me an unfriendly look, raised her brows and extremely condescendingly said they were already closed.

Surprised, I double-checked my phone; nope, it was still well over an hour until the restaurant's posted closing time, and holiday season to boot.
I looked at the restaurant itself: it was hopping and active and absolutely teeming with customers - no hint of anything there closing or anyone leaving.

I looked around at the clearly open host stand at which this employee was posted, and the dinner menu they had on a stand as well: which was obviously still out there for potential customers to browse, as I'd been doing.

I looked back at the employee's stony face in some disbelief that they were really being that obvious about turning away "unwanted" customers. I'd been dressed quite nicely and had been perfectly polite to her. Her hostile and condescending expression didn't change at all.

I calmly said "fine", turned around and headed for the nearest exit, planning to get dinner elsewhere.

As soon as I took one step away, this employee started screaming after me. And screaming, and screaming, and screaming some more, in what sounded like the most angry and hostile tone that a human being can produce.
She literally continued relentlessly shouting and screaming at my back the entire time I was walking out of the building, all the way around the railing and down the museum's entrance steps; I was still hearing her horrible screams as I was walking out the doors. One of the longest and most disturbing minutes of my life.

This was, bar none, the freakiest experience I've ever had in any public business, restaurant or otherwise. And I didn't even end up eating here.

Unsurprisingly, I've never tried to go back. There's plenty of other upscale restaurants in this area, so there's no need to roll the dice by going to this particular one and perhaps also being randomly turned away then publicly subjected to unhinged and, frankly, threatening behaviour by their employees as a "bonus".

My party enjoyed their food & drinks. We look forward to trying something new every visit. The food is top notch and the vibe is relaxed with lots of laughter and good cheer.

It’s a rare day when I give a restaurant 5 stars but Lulu earned it today. The brunch was delicious. It was buffet style with an abundance of variety. Everything was fresh and healthy and you could have breakfast or lunch foods with seafood, crepes, desert and just about anything else (except oysters). The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was very festive with lots of dressed up and good looking people celebrating their bdays. There was a live DJ and he put the experience over the top for me. He played great music and all that was missing was a dance floor!
Ambiance was very nice. At one point, they came around and gave every woman a rose.

The meal was very expensive. Almost $200 for me and my daughter (without alcohol!). The water alone was $8.

We had a great time.

Underwhelming. Overpriced and doesn’t live up to other positive reviews. Disappointed.

Food was good. I was alone traveling for work. Service started out great, she was very nice, and then severely trailed off - dessert was took a LONG time and server disappeared. I spent quite a bit on dinner to be forgotten.
Message to this team: Sometimes it’s hard to go out to eat alone. Please don’t forget about the ‘tables for one.’

The atmosphere was nice but the table was a bit small for two people. I ordered the rockfish as an entree. It tasted so good, especially with the locally grown vegetables.

Really nice space inside of the museum courtyard. Food is a California classic executed precisely. Still some dishes that are not outrageously priced, including wine. 18% gratuity is included
