When I want delicious and quality Tamales, Lupita's is my to-go place. I also enjoy their hot Champurrado. I've recently tried their Chilaquiles rojo, so delicious. I would 100% recommend Lupita's tamales.

$13 for this mess. Tastes like Chef Boyardee tamales. L.A. is not short of tamales there are better places to go especially street vendors.
This place rocks. I wanted two tacos and a tamale but I only had $5.50 cash. I said just a tamale then but she took my cash and gave me two tacos anyway. What a legend.
Food tasted great. Red salsa was perfect.

I have tried tamales from different places and I always go back to this place that's about 15 miles from where I live (but it's worth the drive). I took one star off only because sometimes it has a bit too much dough, but other than that, the tamales are amazing.

This is a shop that is specialized in tamales. The owner started many years ago selling tamales on the corner of the street and after a few years they got their own brick and morter location. I usually go there for the tamales and/or the chilaquiles, my wife usually gets the huevos rancheros. It's located in a small shopping center so there is always parking.

Hours are very random. It used to be ran by a woman I believe the mother and she was firm stern and a bit unfriendly, but she knew her stuff. I haven’t seen her for a while so I’m assuming that her son has since taken over the business and while he’s much more friendly are a little odd. I’ve been next-door the shop several times and seeing people come up to the door during lunch or a big later to find they are closed. Or on vacation. at least by the time they close they don’t have to compete with the plethora of other taco stands that are literally on the corner. They must have great tamales because every holiday the line is literally down the road.
