Great vegan "fish" burger and side salad was superb. Good quality coffee. Friendly and fun staff. With valet parking at the rear of the building it was easy to find a space to put the car. All in all a very high standard all round.
We have been veg for almost 40 years and have been to countless veg restaurants throughout the country and in LA. Nothing compares to the quality, taste, fresh ingredients and fabulous menu as MCafe. It truly is the best of the best.
Long-standing favorite of macrobiotic, vegetarian and healthy eaters. M Cafe de Chaya is delicious, good for you and a pretty good value.
I love M cafe. I ate here since they opened. Their food is so tasty even though the quality went down a bit since their opening days but I still think it's good food. I especially like their club sandwich and trio salad that I can choose from their pre-made salad options that is quick & delicious.
Heard that they had new items on the menu so we went back and were not disappointed. Crispy Fish sandwich was amazing and the old faithful kale salad with peanut dressing. all yummy. Only negative thing I ask for extra sauce on the sandwich and they charge me $ dollar...lol In & out give 3 packets of sauce for a $6.00 burger.. guess health food don't have the margins... But its worth a visit..
Thank you M Cafe for delicious food - had to go twice - one evening for the legendary pasta bolognaise then again for brunch - yummy buckwheat blueberry pancakes. So you definitely need to open a branch in the UK - preferably in Manchester or Liverpool where your vegan inventiveness would be truly appreciated!
Went here as a healthy alternative to a traditional breakfast. The burritos and enchiladas were both great. The gluten-free tortillas had a tendency to fall apart, so it was a bit messier than normal but the great flavors and overall healthiness more than compensated. The only downside was the coffee. If you are used to milk-based cappuccinos and very high-quality coffee, I would stay away from the coffee here. Just wasn’t very good. Great place other than that.
Meeting a friend and had never been here before - delicious vegetarian food Self service and easy to park and find a seat Delicious fries - gobo fries super casual and easy
M Cafe de Chaya is a fantastic little healthy eating place on Melrose Avenue. Great for vegetarians and vegans, but we had the salmon wrap ($10.50), the soba noodles ($9), the butternut squash soup ($6) and a spicy tuna roll ($3.50), washed down with iced mint tea ($4). There's a few outside tables and the staff are charming. There's also limited parking in the lot at the back, but you can only stay an hour there and need a validation from the cafe. Only gripe would be that the public wifi didn't work. Otherwise great.
Finding something to eat at 4pm can be a challenge. That's the dead zone between lunch and dinner for many restaurants in the area. Limited parking but we had a spot on the street a short walk away. The grilled tuna burger my dining companion very much enjoyed and you could choose a side or fries. I had the kelp pad thai- it is served cold but is very good-better than I expected and super filling! And the item I really enjoyed the gobo fries. The restaurant has a kind of counter appeal, it's not super fancy so you can wear anything. Must try if you are looking for something healthy but tasty! $40 for our 2 entrees and the added gobo fries

Everyone in our party of seven was able to find something delicious to eat at M Cafe. The member who eats a vegan diet had the coconut curry udon and loved it. My husband had the grilled tuna burger and it was delicious. The rest of us had the terriyaki bowls and macro bowl and enjoyed them as well. The staff was very kind as we perused the menu since this was our first visit. When I called earlier in the week to try and arrange reserved seating the manager was so helpful. We ultimately cancelled the request for reserved seating and visited at another time. When we did visit, we were able to get two tables side-by-side for our party of 7. Great casual dining with plenty of healthy and delicious options.
I was in LA for 6 days and attended breakfast here twice because it was soooo good. This is one of those places where you just feel healthy eating the food. The seating inside is small but the restaurant is extremely clean and well kept. The menu is extensive and the coffee and fresh drinks are delicious. i ordered the vegan enchiladas one day, and the tofu soy and the probiotic bowl. would come back here again without thinking twice.
