One of the best coffee shops I had been to while staying in California. Awesome baristas who are kind and friendly. The coffee is out of this world. It’s so good and every note is extracted perfectly. A recommended stop while you are in Culver City!

pretty interior but the food and coffee was not good compared to other places nearby.
the breakfast burrito was cold, so everything inside was hard. the salsa was separated so it was chunky and watery at the same time, which is something I have never seen before.
the dolly tasted extremely sour. just disappointed for the price point

This place is so great. And today I realized why I like their coffee so much. So, I don’t do cream or sugar. I just like my coffee/espresso black. And every time I taste theirs, I get so many fruity notes and aromas. Today, I had a double shot espresso of the Razzle Dazzle Blend and I asked the baristas what made it taste so berry tart. Turns out, they co-ferment their beans with wine yeast and fruit, in this case they used peaches. Crazy! Now I get why they are called Mad Lab. Experimental, artisanal coffee. Maybe you already knew all this, but I sure didn’t. A deliciously pleasant surprise.

I’m came on a day when the power was out. The sweet barista could have turned me away but still offered to make me a drink on the house, since they couldn’t charge me with the power out.
The barista was so kind and very knowledgeable about all the coffee selections. I walked away with the best drip coffee I’ve ever had and the most unique seasonal matcha.
I will definitely be coming back here soon!!

Such a cute little spot! Parking is a problem, but the coffee is so worth it! Had a Dolly Latte and was blown away by just how smooth, complex and flavorful it was. Will be back!
Mad Lab is always a good time, and I love coming back to try their new offerings. Co-fermented with different fruits and berries is genius! I love Dolly as the go to Ethiopian, but today I picked up the new Betiberoti natural Ethiopian. Super excited to try it out!

i got the dolly latte and the chocolate walnut cookie. the cookie is sweet but was really nice with the coffee. They only charge 50 cents extra for a different milk so i really liked that!

It all started with the peculiar design of the cup that got me hooked and triggered my curiosity to pay the coffee shop a visit. Yep, that skeleton on the green cup. The cute coffee shop was located right at the intersection between Inglewood and Culver Boulevard, two busy roads making it bit tricky to find parking. The place was cozy and pretty quiet other than the background music, as most guests were on their own gadgets. It was pretty busy throughout the day even on weekday, I guess with the location being strategic.
The service was swift and the barista was super friendly. I tried their Dolly, which was basically latte with Demerara sugar. I would say their coffee was pretty strong and tad acidic, so probably would suit those loving that kind of notes for their cup of joe. I would say it's pretty decent, despite wouldn't call it my top list.

I will go anywhere else for coffee
I love to try third wave coffee shops and creative blends/ co-ferments
Usually try a few shops in any city I am visiting
Got two bags of co-ferment here (usually very much look forward to co-ferments) and two cups of take away coffee
Didn’t enjoy any of them. No matter how much effort I put into dialing in their beans, I very much detested them as did my wife
Won’t be coming back especially with so many options nearby that I look forward to
