This is a food stand located outside of LAX-C, which offers coconut cakes along with some other Thai items like meat skewers. It is only open on the weekends and is in walking distance to LA Chinatown. Coconut cakes are a Thai dessert that are harder to find in the US. They sort of look like bubble waffles cut up into pieces with a notable creamy coconut flavor. It makes for a great snack and reheats decently well if you are not eating them right away.

I was there around 9:05 but the lady said that the cake would be ready in 25 minutes cos they just opened. Okay, so I waited. Then I got the cakes, but it doesn’t taste as delicious as I thought. I feel a little bit disappointed ☹️

Updated 2023.12.15. Very sloe laborious process of making these small coconut Cakes individually. Pretty sweet but not quite over the top.

Delicious sausage and coconut cakes. Closest thing we've had to street food in Thailand. The sausage is both charred/crispy and juicy. It's just missing the little bag of chili, garlic and cabbage. The coconut cakes are delicious, coconuty and oniony without being too sweet or savory. The sticky rice was good but a little loose. Great, cheap and quick meal eaten outside if you're in the area. Will have to come back for sausage and coconut cakes sometime.

We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ).The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm. The mango is sweet and not sour so we are satisfied. Remember to bring cash cause they accept cash & zelle. After they take your order, they give you a ticket and they make your food. You just need to bring that ticket to get your food. The wait is around 25 minutes for the food, and there are 3 long tables next to the stand so you can eat there. We walk around the Thai grocery store across the coconut cake stand when waiting for food.It is a nice place to experience some Thai coconut cakes! Would recommend this place.

It says cash only, but they do accept Zelle payments! Super hole in the wall place with delicious coconut cakes, I've tried the regular ones and the mango sticky rice ones and they're so yummy! They have other types and there's BBQ skewers as well, though I haven't tried them.

Thai street food and dessert. The best coconut cake in LA and their bbq pork and chicken with sticky rice is the same like you eat in Thailand.

Mai’s Coconut Cakes is a few tents on the side of the Thai supermarket. They have a free parking lot that was pretty empty when we went around Sunday noon. It’s cash only and they serve amazing Thai bbq, fried coconut cakes, fried fish balls, sticky rice, and more. We ordered the the bbq pork and chicken, coconut cakes, and fried yellowtail, which was deep fried fish paste. All of it was very tasty and the portions were sizable, good for two or three people. Their hours are very specific so double check before you go.They also had a cat chillin around.
