We came on a Sunday, it is somewhat busy. The location has a few small Thai stands. We ordered the mango sticky rice coconut cakes and green onion coconut cakes. They are $10 ( each has around 8 pieces ).The coconut cakes are sweet , creamy and flavorful, they made it right in front of you so they come out warm. The mango is sweet and not sour so we are satisfied. Remember to bring cash cause they accept cash & zelle. After they take your order, they give you a ticket and they make your food. You just need to bring that ticket to get your food. The wait is around 25 minutes for the food, and there are 3 long tables next to the stand so you can eat there. We walk around the Thai grocery store across the coconut cake stand when waiting for food.It is a nice place to experience some Thai coconut cakes! Would recommend this place.

It says cash only, but they do accept Zelle payments! Super hole in the wall place with delicious coconut cakes, I've tried the regular ones and the mango sticky rice ones and they're so yummy! They have other types and there's BBQ skewers as well, though I haven't tried them.

Thai street food and dessert. The best coconut cake in LA and their bbq pork and chicken with sticky rice is the same like you eat in Thailand.

Cash only. Bring lots of cash because you're going to want to try everything. If you're craving a trip to Thailand for street food, get your fix here. I loved their durian sticky rice over coconut cake. I wish I had more room to taste the rest of the options. Their bbq smelled divine and transported me back to Bangkok.

Food stands I'm familiar with, food stalls in parking lots ditto, Chinatown as well... but something about the location and ambiance here, at the edge of Chinatown, in the parking lot of LAX-C, with one other food stall next door... seems oddly appropriate?Som thum is good, medium is appropriately spicy but not overwhelming, and loaded with not only peanuts but tiny dried shrimp. Was pretty empty when I walked in, but they got a good sized crowd not long after. And regrettably I did not have stomach space for any BBQ this time...

Mai’s Coconut Cakes is a few tents on the side of the Thai supermarket. They have a free parking lot that was pretty empty when we went around Sunday noon. It’s cash only and they serve amazing Thai bbq, fried coconut cakes, fried fish balls, sticky rice, and more. We ordered the the bbq pork and chicken, coconut cakes, and fried yellowtail, which was deep fried fish paste. All of it was very tasty and the portions were sizable, good for two or three people. Their hours are very specific so double check before you go.They also had a cat chillin around.

Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes is a hidden gem found on the outskirts of Chinatown, in the LAX-C parking lot. What's LAX-C you ask? The best way to describe this business is like an Asian Costco. But you can read Yelp reviews about that cool giant warehouse if you want to look at photos and read more about it. Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes is a small food stand that is best known for their freshly made coconut cakes. You can get a large order for $6. These small coconut cakes are crisp on the outside, but creamy with shredded coconut on the inside. It is sweet but not too sweet and is nice and moist on the inside (even consumed a day later too, but these coconut cakes are best served freshly made). But Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes also sell other delicious Thai foods, in which I also had tried the following:Chicken skewer, $3- A good amount of juicy chicken that you can get for $3.Pork skewer, $3- Just like the chicken, you get plenty of juicy and tender pork for $3. Papaya salad, $12- A fair portion that is good for one person. But is a little spicy (but is fine for spicy eaters like my husband). Please note that this salad is made with seafood so it is not vegan or vegetarian friendly. This papaya salad is refreshing but I have had better. Order of sticky rice, $2- A small portion that I ordered for my little girl dog to have (with a little chicken and pork)------------------------------(Total= $27, Please note that this place is CASH ONLY)After waiting in line to order, we ended up waiting 25 minutes for our order to be filled. You are given a number and have to check back to see if your items are ready. The food was delicious and I think the price was reasonable. They just have to figure out a better system to pick up your order after purchase (as our food items were picked up by another person and so we had to wait longer for our food to be made again). Food overall was pretty good and would come back. Please note that Mae Ting's Coconut Cakes is only open on Saturdays and Sundays.

You got to love LA's diversity of street food. You got your tacos, fruit stands, food trucks and Mae Ting's coconut cakes! This food stand is located in the same plaza as LAX-C. You can park in the plaza or on the street. I came here for the coconut cakes, but they also offer chicken and pork bbq sticks, sausage, papaya salad and mango sticky rice. The coconut cakes are so simple but executed sooo well. They're like mini pancakes with a silky coconut custard filling. We also got some chicken skewers which were a generous portion for $3 each! Definitely check it out for a quick and affordable snack/meal! They post up on Saturdays and Sundays. Cash only.

Stopped by to try Mae Ting's coconut cakes after hearing rave reviews. They weren't too busy when I arrived one hour after opening so I didn't need to wait too long (about 15 minutes). They were served super fresh, freshly pulled off the pan. The coconut flavor was delightful and the texture was crisp on the outside. The hint of saltiness really rounded it out for a perfect bite of coconut custardy goodness. Don't forget to bring cash! Overall, what a treat. Might check out their other goodies when I'm back.

Wow! I did not expect to basically be transported to Thailand coming to this quaint little spot. It's in front of a market with a bunch of umbrellas and grills. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. This has got to be one of the most authentic Thai spots. I got the coconut cakes which were crispy yet soft in the middle. Super warm and delicious little bites. The mango sticky rice was super good with the coconut cakes on the bottom. The mangos were peak ripe and the rice in between really tied everything together! I didn't get the meat skewers but they looked and smelled amazing. Warning, this place is cash only!

Their fresh coconut rice cakes was amazing! They share a space with the skewers and the skewers were good too. We only got the pork one.

Mmmm if you are shopping at the Thai Costco (Lax-C) & smell something good while at checkout, it's most likely this place. Be sure to make your way across the parking lot to this little hole in the wall mom & pop business. Don't let the outside deter you - the food is so fire. No coconut cakes this time around - but the smell of the bbq chicken skewers got me ! I knew this place was going to be good when I got whiffs paying at the checkout at Lax-C. The order process is sort of chaotic but just embrace it & be patient. (It's worth it). Once we got our order in - ca$h only by the way, the wait seemed to take forever, or maybe I was just so hungry & the smells were not helping. You can see the man cooking right in front on a simple propane grill - so you know the food will be hot & fresh when ready. The first bite sent me to flavortown. I could not figure out the spices or what was used to marinate the chicken. It did not taste like any chicken I had before. It was juicy too & not at all dry. This was by far my favorite chicken skewer I have ever had. The lady was so sweet & saw I'm pregnant & offered me a cold ice water & sticky rice to eat with our dank skewers, free of charge. The man cooking also was so friendly & was chatting with my husband. We definitely will be back when in the area !

This stand reminds me of the street vendors since it's located outside of a grocery store in the parking lot. First, you order what you want and you get a number. The wait was about 15-20 minutes. Once your order is ready, then you pay for your items. I ordered the Coconut Cakes ($6 for 10pcs) and one Pork BBQ Skewer ($3). The coconut cakes is what takes longer to make, but they're a must here. The cakes are so silky smooth inside with a nice, thin crisp on the outside. The coconut flavor is subtle, but refreshing. Don't forget the BBQ skewers here too as they're fully marinaded with flavor. If you're in the area, definitely stop by for a snack here. It's such a unique find in Chinatown for some Thailand street foods.
