This was such an amazing culinary experience - the staff was so very gracious and went above and beyond to make us feel special for our anniversary - they greeted us with wine and even left a card! Each item is on the smaller side so for two people for plates did the trick and we also indulged with dessert - we got the mushroom dish, wagyu carpaccio, gnocchi and lamb ribsEverything was exquisite - amazing quality very fresh. Even the drinks had a special touch including a honey lollipop made by their dessert chefThe lamb ribs fell off the bone - delicious and buttery from the lamb fat. I love the sauce but my husband was not a fan so they gave him another delicious option of a chimichuri style sauceThe desserts were both to die for especially the very light and tasty Japanese cheesecake - it was so airy and had the perfect textures of creamy fluffy and crunchyI will be back soon!!
Everything was top notch from service to wine to food to atmosphere. The food was a top 10 meal all time for us, we were blown away. The pictures don’t do the food justice, the presentation was as great as the taste.
We are from Colorado I was looking for a good Italian restaurant for a family member's birthday. Outside of this place being clean and comforting, the staff was amazing. The drinks were tasty and the food was delicious. We left feeling satisfied with surety of coming back on our next visit. The desserts were divine.
Pizza was crispy and just right I’d saltiness. And I always love al dente pasta.A really nice Italian bistro with Japanese touch.
Had a relaxing dinner for 1 with a book - gnocchi was amazing and will definitely be returning for it specificallyAlso had the wagyu carpaccio which was great and a naked and famous
Soooo delicious!! I wish I ordered more! We got the Heirloom tomato salad, the yuzu tagliatelle, Burrata and prosciutto di San Daniele and lamb ribs. All so was soo good but I do have to highlight those lamb ribs. Those are a must get. Definitely coming back to try more
We returned to Magari and found it even better than our first visit which we didnt think possible! The starters are so unique and innovative. Be sure to try the Hokkaido diver scallops and yellowtail with grapefruit. Both dishes are show stoppers . And those pastas are superb and some of the best in LA. We shared two of them, one with lemon and cheese and the other a pork with traditional red sauce and we couldn't get enough. We could have stopped there but went on to enjoy the most incredible Asian inspired ribs and an incredibly aged and so flavorful rib eye beautifully plated and presented. And I didn't mention the mushrooms that had a hint of smoke and like nothing we have ever experienced. All the deserts were also memorable and wonderfully paired with some Amaro to end a perfect and unique experience!
Terrific lunch spot. I dined here for a business meeting the other day and they were offering lunch specials, so I decided to take a chance on the salad and gnocchi. Both were absolutely excellent - fresh, hot, flavorful and perfectly portioned. The fresh bread was A+ as well. Service was excellent from host to server and the setting was ideal. This will become a go-to lunch spot.
Our server Carolyne made a big difference. She was not only helpful but delightful. The food is innovative and delicious.
The staff and the room were lovely. The restaurant was almost empty. My fried calamari was cold and my seafood pasta was way overcooked. Dry. And the cannoli was a joke! It was the size of my pinky. The menu is lacking in good vegan and vegetarian options. I will not go back unless/until there is a new chef. It's too bad as there are few fine dining options in this area.

I have been following this restaurant since I found out that it was going to open. I honestly think I was one of the first Instagram followers, just because I was so intrigued by their description of being Italian Japanese fusion. I would say it’s more of an Italian restaurant with heavy Japanese influence than a fusion, but it is still delicious.I was worried about portion size, but my partner & I split 1 item from each section (Crudi, Antipasti, Paste, Griglia & Dessert) and it was enough to fill us both up.Our 5 course meal was amazing and I was really surprised at the precision used in the kitchen. I won’t lie, the pasta & lamb ribs were a bit too salty for my taste, but they were still good. The uni in the pasta added an extra layer of creaminess and accentuated the yuzu which was a nice touch. Worth the added cost in my opinion.I will definitely be going back to have a “Me Day” lunch before my daughter comes home so I can use my final drink coupon that I won via Instagram before this visit.I wish the amaretti cookies were on the menu, but all in all, I had the best date night I’ve had in a while. The price was cheaper than expected & my partner was happy with being treated to such an amazing meal.
A must dine experience, unlike any I’ve had recently! From Yellowtail and salmon crudo dishes to burrata, prosciutto, ember roasted potatoes and Tagliatelle with crab, everything was off the charts amazing! Had a great meal with excellent suggestions from our server Ashley and a big shout out to Spencer who stopped by to check on our meal and offer a glass of Prosecco, also the amazing chefs and entire wait staff, thank you for making this meal incredibly memorable! Don’t forget some amazing desserts! Japanese cheesecake is an unexpected highlight and Panna Cotta was simply delicious! Not a single mis-step, remarkably on point for the entire experience! Occupying the previous Paley location at Columbia Square, a huge step up in quality of surroundings and food (and what was here prior was top notch already)!
My son, Spencer, is a manager there. I was amazed how well he memorized everything brought out. The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond. The food, drinks were amazing just fabulous! I didnt think I would like raw meat, but I did. The thin steak just melted in your mouth. Loved the decor architect of the place ?❤?
Newly opened on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood, Magari is a blend of Japanese and Italian influenced dishes. The atmosphere is refined and comfortable. The food is first class and exceptionally well prepared. The service and staff is friendly and efficient. This is a must try restaurant for thsoe looking for a great place to dine in LA>
