Main Chick Hot Chicken

They tried to charge for sauce. Long wait even though the place was completely empty. Over all a disappointing meal.

If you want to challenge yourself with the level of spicy, Main Chick is your go-to. Their chicken smells really good.

I know this is a petty complaint, but… they changed the ranch dressing to being in pre-packaged cups, and it’s ruined everything.

Now the pre-packaged ranch just slicks off of the chicken or fries like an oil-based, intensely salty pudding. It’s actually devastating.

Unfortunately, even the MC sauce comes in packets as well now, and the consistency of it is also completely different.

Look, I know I’m leaving a review based on sauces, but this is an integral part of the hot chicken experience, and I’m so sad that it’s taken such a major downgrade.

Let me start by saying I ordered my food for pickup via Yelp, which is processed by Grubhub. The address listed for the business on yelp is incorrect, the address is actually 375 N. Western in Korea Town. How did I know this? Well, AFTER driving to the address listed, There was a handwritten note on the door stating that the business had moved to the otherwise of town on Western. My order in Yelp sent me to the address listed, and so when I contacted Grubhub for a refund, they said they could not issue one since the order had already been started.

Now, I'm 6 months pregnant, and HUNGRY. So I drove all the way across town on the phone with Grubhub the whole time, and when I got inside to the new location I asked to speak to a manager only to find that this location doesn't have one. So the young man that did speak with me had to use google translator since he didn't speak English, and then he brought out Yael, who works in the back and can speak English very well. Yael took the time to apologize, and then offered me water and a sprite, and then took care of my order by making me a duplicate order since he wasn't able to refund me directly. I showed him the app on Yelp, and how it sent me to the old address, and I told him that all the "owner" or "higher ups" have to do is log into the Yelp app and update the address. It's that simple. Yael isn't even the manager, yet he has to deal with angry, frustrated, customers being sent to the wrong address. His demeanor was warm, kind, and understanding. I give him 5 stars alone but Main Chick?! You get a 1 star for not having management on hand and a 1 star for not updating your address on Yelp. Promote Yael to manager, because he's taking the heat for your lack of customer service. The review before me complained about the same thing, I just wish I would've read it before ordering to know your address was incorrect in Yelp. Stop being lazy, and stop being cheap. Hire a manager and get your back office in order. The men in the kitchen are working hard to serve good food on time, and it isn't fair for them to take the heat that the owners should be feeling. Get it together!

I give the actual food a 4. It would be a 5 if your staff didn't have to cook under stress. Just like you can taste the love in really good food when who prepares it loves what they do, you can also taste the stress in your food!

They only do takeout orders. I recommend the leg quarter—it’s super juicy! I got the mild spicy this time, but it was a bit too sweet for me. I’ll try the hot next time.

The chicken tenders reminded me of daves hot chicken but this was more flavorful and crispy which is absolutely phenomenal. My favorite part were the pickles on the side. Really complimented well with the chicken tenders and fries. They really should open one in New York?

Overall the delivery was great all the young man who delivered my food was fantastic the only thing is I had ordered pickles and it wasn't placed in my order, 😭
