This is a gem! I’m a big fan of Omakase sushi and this place did not disappoint. I highly recommend sitting at the bar. Service was impeccable, friendly, and always ready. Attention to detail was superb! I didn’t take any photos because they asked me to silence my phones (you can still take photos), but I wanted to be respectful and also focus on my taste buds and not my phone. Admittedly this place doesn’t look much from the outside (Weller Court could use some updates), but don’t be afraid to step inside. One suggestion for them is to have a sake pairing option as I am a sake lover. I did get their cold sake that ended up tasting wonderful, so I’m not complaining. As for price, I think it’s reasonable for an Omakase place like this. You’re really paying for the experience. Without drinks, I think it’s around $200 for a full course meal and tax/tip. Highly recommend!

Pretty amazing. It's hard to imagine sushi getting any better than this.Parking: They don't validate for parking, so either pay for the structure or look for street parking.

Our children sent us off to this dinner date while they were out of town. What a great gift. We had a cold sake with melon notes and their homemade yuzu soda to go with their excellent nigiri omakase. We ordered repeats of the sawara, kawahagi and toro taku and also ordered anago on top of the omakase. We normally don't enjoy the tamagoyaki but their castella style tamagoyaki was so good. This nigiri omakase was the perfect amount but would like to try their signature omakase in the future.

Might be the best omakase I’ve ever had. Sushi Takeda serves all of the classics but with great flair. Every bite has a unique take which elevates this from just a decent sushi place to a level rarely found. Subtleties like lightly smoking king mackerel with hay both complement and accentuate the natural flavors of their impeccably sourced fish. If I had to choose between Takeda and another place half the price, I’d choose Takeda every time.

Amazing meal and service. Sushi was phenomenal and every bite was better than the last. The beer selection was very interesting, the first beer on the list being the best. Free refills on ginger. A hidden gem on the third floor of a Little Tokyo mall. Very fun. Very cute. Would omakase again.

LA's most underrated sushi Chef cuts amazing waves out of squid||| Have you had it yet? It's an understated, yet sophisticated and impressive sushi restaurant. It's also in LA donwtonw's Little Tokyo, but it's not as popular as Sushi Kaneyoshi.Sushi Takeda is tucked away on the third floor of Weller Court..The space itself is well lit, with a few tables and bar seating.Light wood is the dominant color throughout. It's plain, simple, and serene.Chef Hide Takeda's skill and knife work is a delight to behold and savor.I've tried it twice this year, and I'm still amazed by the incredible squid. Both in terms of the knife work and the texture, it elevates the ordinary ika.It elevates the ordinary ika! It's awesome!!!. The chef's other specialty, the charcoal grill. The flavor of the charcoal grill is really mesmerizing! While eating the fresh and delicious sushi. While eating the fresh and delicious sushi, you can smell the aroma of the charcoal. You can also enjoy the chef's skillful technique. And every time we end the meal with a bowl of our signature sea urchin caviar rice, we are not disappointed. No disappointment, and a great aftertaste..Takeda is not as famous as other sushi restaurants, but it's a good choice.Takeda is not as famous as other sushi restaurants, but it's still a good choice, and it's not hard to get a seat.Try it out!!!! .sushi takeda123 Astronaut Ellison S. I ate here yesterday and I was throwing up (and out the other end) all night and today!! I noticed the raw fish was sliced before the meal and kept unrefrigerated for 1-1.5 hours in a wood box in a warm restaurant during dinner service. I enjoyed it in the moment but raw food needs to be kept cold on ice! I will definitely not be back.

Decided to take my mother out for dinner and she decided she wanted sushi, so i thought it would be a treat to bring her to Sushi Takeda. They were super accommodating with items my mother didn't want to eat and we had a delicious dinner that left us stuffed; and we didn't even do the full omakase at the bar. Service was super and we were in and out fairly quickly, plus easy parking right downstairs.
