The restaurant was absolutely amazing, with a beautiful and elegant atmosphere. My husband and I truly enjoyed our experience, and the dishes were incredibly delicious. It was the perfect and most beautiful way to end our honeymoon.

Came here for New Year’s Dinner. Everyone was soo welcoming and attentive. Food was delicious and portions were large which was good because we were hungry. Highly recommend the Trofie, Ragú y Caracu pasta, chef’s kiss. Drinks were great as well loved the Argentinian G&T and the Negroni ala Fuersa.

Okay, that Tomahawk at Malbec Arts District is ridiculously good — no cap! 💥💯❤️
I thought I was just grabbing dinner, but this giant bone-in ribeye showed up looking all dramatic: crispy charred edges, super juicy pink center, and flavor that hits you like “wait, what?!” Tangy chimichurri + that creamy peppercorn sauce = instant food coma (the happy kind).
Place has that perfect Arts District cool factor, awesome patio, and the service was genuinely nice without being annoying.
Girls, if you're craving a steak that'll make you text your group chat “brb dying,” this is it. Already lowkey obsessed and planning my comeback. 🔥💁♀️

**4.3/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟✨ Malbec Argentine Steakhouse Arts District DTLA: Chic Vibes, Solid Steaks, But Not Quite Buenos Aires**
Tucked in the heart of the Arts District on Traction Ave, **Malbec** nails the aesthetic game—exposed brick walls, moody lighting, sleek leather booths, and oversized wine racks that scream upscale urban parrilla 🥩✨. The chic decor makes it perfect for date nights or impressing out-of-town friends; the vibe is lively without being loud, and the outdoor patio catches that perfect DTLA evening buzz.
The wine list shines with a deep selection of Argentine Malbecs by the glass or bottle, and the empanadas (beef and spinach) arrive crispy and flavorful—great starters. The **provoleta** (grilled provolone with oregano) is gooey and addictive.
That said, points deducted because the core steak experience felt **average**. The **bife de chorizo** (sirloin) and **entraña** (skirt steak) were cooked accurately to medium-rare but lacked that deep charcoal kiss and juicy tenderness I crave from true Argentine asados. Seasoning was safe rather than bold, and the **chimichurri** was underwhelming—more parsley-forward than garlicky, herby, spicy punch. Sides like papas provenzal and grilled vegetables were fine but forgettable. Overall, it didn’t transport me to Argentina; it felt more like a polished American steakhouse with an Argentine accent than the real deal.
Service was attentive and knowledgeable about the wines. Malbec is still a solid choice for the Arts District when you want a stylish night out with decent grilled meats and great ambiance—just don’t go expecting an authentic Buenos Aires parrilla experience. I’d return for drinks and apps on the patio, but for unforgettable Argentine steak, I’ll look elsewhere.

Absolutely love this place! The food is amazing, the service is even better. They are right around the corner from our house and we go there more than we should. Really a great addition to the neighborhood. Can't stress how good it is! And everyone that works there goes above and beyond. Highly recommend if you haven't checked out yet.

I come here at least once a week. The location is beautiful and the service is always amazing. The beet and burrata is my go to appetizer, love the gnocchi bolognese. Consistently great every time.

What a fabulous restaurant! We loved the beautiful aesthetic, comfort, and ability to relax and have a great conversation. Such a great vibe! Service was impeccable. Friendly, attentive, fast, just wonderful. The menu was right up our alley, so full of all of our favourites that it was hard to choose! If we didn’t live so far away (Canada!) we’d be here every week for dinner. Can’t say enough about how delicious everything was. My advice: Go!

My wife and I were in LA seeing our daughter in college. I wanted to try Argentinian food. So glad I did my research and picked this place. Had probably the best steak of my life here (and I have had a lot of great steaks). Waiter was really friendly, helpful, and down to earth. Very chill atmosphere too, I was in an nba t shirt and wearing a baseball hat. didn't feel like a complete knob. Will definitely be returning.

I haven’t had such an amazing, well-cooked mollejas in a long time. Malbec offers a beautiful, dog-friendly location with some of the best Argentinian food you can eat out of the country. And on top of that: warm, super friendly service. Having one of the owners come to your table and genuinely ask you how your meal makes you feel like a friend. Milanesas and supremas Napolitanas were mind blowing. Definitely worth visiting. They have parking with validation so check that out beforehand if you want to save a few dollars (otherwise, you have several parkings in the area - one across the street and another a few meters from the restaurant).

After a day of dancing Tango at the Gavito Tango Festival at the Biltmore Hotel, an Argentinian asado beckoned, and in every way Malbec arts district delivered. The restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating, is architecturally very attractive, with a modern aesthetic . You can look over the bar and see into the woodfired oven area. The artwork is contemporary and beautiful. The service was professional in both Spanish or English. We opened with three empanadas , and then had the short rib and the skirt steak, along with the mushrooms. All was outstanding and cooked perfectly. The wine list is an excellent mix of Argentine , Chilean, and Uruguayan wines. The pre-dinner Mezcal cocktail is a must. The post dinner espresso was perfectly drawn. The owner is from Patagonia and works the front of the house with charm and aplomb. Having been to Argentina quite a few times, I can confidently say that this restaurant represents the cuisine with extraordinary accuracy. It is my new favorite Argentine restaurant in the United States. Highly recommend.

The filet mignon was so delicious! The service was also great, the staff was very attentive. Highly recommend!
My wife and I order takeout here frequently. Their meat quality is outstanding and their service is speed. Whether you want to fine dine or fine takeout, this is the hottest new steakhouse in the Arts District. Did I mention they have Happy Hour? 😮💨
