My dad knows that I love food and is always on the lookout for a new place for us to try. One day he was telling me about this restaurant he saw while driving in Burbank. He said the name was four letters with a y in it. We drove all around Burbank looking for this place and couldn't find it. Heading back home on Burbank Blvd he gets excited and points to the restaurant, LA Mama Chuy so we stop. Restaurant is small with about 4 booths but real clean and neat. The guy working seemed like he did everything. He suggested the deep fried quesadilla. We ordered 2 tacos 1 chicken tinga and 1 asada, and 2 deep fried quesadillas 1 asada and 1 chicken tinga. Tacos came out first. My asada taco was filled to the brim but was not very good. The meat was tough and not very flavorful. The tortillas were store bought and not warmed up enough on the grill. It ate very oily with not much flavor. Tried drowning the taco in the salsa but that to was bland. Dad said his taco was OK. I did try some of the chicken which was more flavorful than the asada. Not a good start. The deep fried quesadillas came out and they looked crunchy. I again had the Asada and my dad had the chicken. Took my first bite and it was very crunchy, kind of like an empanada but crunchier. Unfortunately, it was lacking flavor or even that umami bomb mixture of cheese and beef. Very very bland. Dunked it in the avocado salsa but that was not much help. Dad was telling me how good his chicken one was so I took a bite. Much better than mine, the chicken really stood out here. Best bite of the meal. Overall I wanted to like the place. I may come back to try some of the other Meats with the deep fried quesadilla but steer clear of the asada. Pretty disappointed but may have just ordered the wrong thing.

One of the best sopes I’ve had! I appreciate them for having veggie options, I was able to get my vegetarian sopes delivered papas and I got the asada sopes and we both agreed they were both delicious!

We tried the milanesa plate. Burrito de asada hotdog with bacon. Deep fried quesadillas, agua fresca horchata, Jamaica. Everything was delicious.

Very good and friendly service. Offering free coffee during my stop on a cold night was a nice gesture and the burritos were top notch. Their churro dessert came with 2 full churros and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream for only $8. Perfect late-night pit stop.

Are you kidding?? Outstanding food and great vibes. Came in with my wife because it looked so cute. We had just eaten so we were thinking just a couple tacos to share. I saw tortas on the menu so figured we’d share half and save the rest for later but oooh man did we demolish those Al pastor tortas. Sooo delicious. Bread tasted fresh - the meat was so tender. Literally blissed out right now from that experience. New late night spot 100%

Great food and value. They have a few vegetarian-friendly choices, but they are all excellent. Not always consistent on the hours.

OH MY GOODNESS! Do not skip out on this place! They're good is sooo good! Service was amazing (I went around 3pm on a weekday) they had my food ready pretty quick and they gave me plenty of salsa for all my food. The portions are HUGE and so tasty. You definitely get your money's worth. For sure my new go to Mexican food spot! I look forward to trying more things from the Menu!

One of the friendliest places in North Hollywood. They're open late on weekends (2 AM). Started as a hot dog street vendor and now they have a full restaurant. Amazing service. The fried quesadillas are AMAZING!

10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND Been coming here since before the expansion, when youd have to take the risk to see if they were there that night or not. Let me tell you, it was worth the risk every time. They have the BEST fried quesadillas anywhere in LA! And all the boys working are always happy and friendly. If you havent been yet, GO NOW!!!!
