Was walking on Melrose and just happened to see this place. The outdoor area was so different from all the noise and traffic on Melrose and the staff were really friendly.
I ended up choosing Fred's pasta and it was amazing. Love this place.

My chicken was inedible, hard like rubber, and chewy. The only dish I've ever enjoyed here is their pasta, otherwise the food might as well be a buffet. Would not recommend this anymore unfortunately as its best days are behind it, Mauro Cafe just doesn't hit the same.

I used to love Mauro Cafe. I would bring family, friends, and out of town guests. Literally my go-to. After learning about the owner Evelyn’s disgusting behavior protesting at a synagogue, I feel disgusted that I ever gave this establishment a single cent. Never stepping foot here again.

Mauro Café is an absolute gem. I flew to LA with 16 dancers from Jordan Mac Adult Dance Studio, @jordanmacdance in Troy Michigan, to take class at Playground, and while strolling after class, I stumbled upon this incredible Italian spot.
The moment I walked in, I felt transported straight to Italy. The staff showed such genuine warmth and care that it felt like visiting family. They noticed everything—moving my bag to a safer spot, when I step away to the ladies room, and offering a place to charge my phone, and treating me with kindness in every interaction.
My gluten-free Italian pasta and latte were absolutely delicious, but the hospitality is what truly set this place apart. I visit LA once a year, and Mauro Café has officially become a tradition for me. I’ll never come to the city without stopping by this delightful restaurant. Highly recommend!

My son and I stopped in for a late lunch to avoid the traffic from Beverly Hills to Los Angeles, and everything was perfect as always. I ordered my usual—grilled steak, potatoes, and grilled veggies—along with the grilled shrimp salad with lemon and olive oil. Every dish was cooked beautifully and full of flavor. The strawberry lemonade was amazing, too.
My son didn’t order any food this time, but he had the sangria and said it was awesome. Highly recommend this place every time.

Overpriced, small portions, poor quality food. Bad service, manager/owner extremely rude and insulting! Never go to this horrible place!

Went with my partner and I must say this was honestly a really disappointing service. The food was honestly subpar and you could 100% find better places elsewhere in LA.

The owner is truly wonderful, and the food is outstanding flavorful, fresh, and beautifully served. The calm, cozy environment makes it one of the best dining experiences in LA

Love the owner! She is the sweetest and kindest person on earth 💕
I just wanted to leave a comment here to say how I am grateful that people like Evelyn (the owner of restaurant) exist in this world. I am sure with her kind heart, she serve the best food as well ❤️
My children and I had lunch at Mauro cafe this afternoon. The owner greeted us warmly as we walked in. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was clean and bright, but still felt comfortable enough to make you feel like you were at home. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food was great. my picky children thoroughly enjoyed their meals as did. Also, the carrot cake is to die for.
