Maximiliano remains as a favourite neighborhood Italian restaurant. They have a nice selection of beer, artsy, but simple pizzas, a wonderful selection of pastas and other selections for the nonpizza/nonpasta eater. The service is friendly. Our favorite place is at the bar where you can chat with Chris, the manager, or to be seated on the heated patio.
Reservations can be easily made on Resy. When I got to the restaurant, I asked for outdoor patio seating. Inside the restaurant, it's a bit dark and louder. The outside patio is well lit w string lights and it had a more cute, date night atmosphere. If you have a choice and the weather permits, I recommend outdoor seating. The parking situation is also great. It's not in the main part of highland park where there's restaurant after restaurant. Rather, it's a couple blocks down...read full review

Basic but flavorful pasta dishes with well priced wine and a great patio with just the right distribution of heat lamps for an LA fall evening. Attentive knowledgeable wait staff. Parking was easy on the street considering it was a Saturday evening at 8 p.m. Would recommend for a date or get together with friends.
