Extremely fun, very well curated, great food and the ambiance is very cozy.
Also check out the Sook space, some great products to buy.
Great vibes and delicious food - there’s something for everyone!
I’ve visited all the spots at this amazing food hall & have loved every one! Their drinks are incredible, food is all great, and their sit-down restaurant is very nice with wonderful service. Very friendly and helpful people work here. The space is so gorgeous and well designed. Love that it’s open day and night. My only note is that the shared dinner option (I think it’s called Twole??) at their sit down restaurant isn’t really a good value - order a la carte instead. Can’t say enough good things for our new favorite neighborhood spot!! We’ll return many more times.
Honestly overall mid. The venue is beautiful but if you go late most of the food places are either already closed or the food is out of stock.
The drinks are ~$18 each and the service is also just ok.
Overall I think it’s a nice vibe and would go if they had a happy hour but there are places that have better food, drink, and ambiance for a better price.
Beautiful, great vibe and delicious food
Excellent food. We went on taco Tuesday and it was 10$ for 3 of the best tacos I’ve ever had. The handmade tortillas are incredible. The coffee was also great and the decor is spot on. I can’t wait to come back for dinner.
Went to the Maydan Market this past weekend with my friend. I was blown away by the architecture and decor. I can see all of the love that went into opening this beautiful market. We stopped by Compass Rose to have a few snacks and a Moroccan tea. I will coming back to enjoy a good meal with my family.
Nice place but also pretty expensive.
Oh my god oh my god oh my god NO ONE COME HERE ITS MY NEW FAVORITE PLACE AND I DONT WANT ANYONE TO KNOW ABOUT IT.
Absolutely worst service and hospitality in LA. NOBODY should come here. We waited an hour plus for food and left because of eating. The staff lied every 15 mins about food coming. I feel nauseous and sick. Nothing they could do to remedy it. DO NOT COME HERE if you want to be served with food.

The interior atmosphere was great. Street parking was a little rough. The ordering system was confusing. The physical menus are subtle and obscured, but it's all online. Once you discover that it's understandable. Having a unified point of sale for all the restaurants is nice. You scan a QR code is unique to your table so you assume they would deliver the food to your table, but now you have to go pick it up. The food was great.
Such a beautiful place with the best food and so many options to pick from
Why 1 star? Overpriced food, with mandatory 20,% tip for items.
Manager does not care about his customer's experience.
We were 4 people that ordered the Fix manu at $95 per a person. The fix menu gave us option of Lamb or Ribeye.
the whole table must order the same.
we asked to be billed separately , 2 for lamb and 2 for ribeye. Restuarent said that Can't be done unless we sit at two differnt tables. If you want to stay with your friends at the same table and have both lamb and rebye there will be a $80 upcharge. No extra food just $80 more. Again if we sit separately there is no upcharge.
How does that make sense?
From the moment I walked into Maydan LA I knew I was in for something special. Owner Rose Previte greeted guests with genuine warmth, overseeing every detail to make sure things buzzed smoothly. The restaurant’s design is stunning with vaulted ceilings, richly textured tiles, a massive live fire hearth, and distinct seating zones that shift their mood from high energy bar and grill in front of the flame to intimate corners tucked away for two. It’s rare to find a place that can be lively and romantic under one roof.
We started with their hummus and marinated pickled vegetables. The hummus was beautifully balanced, smooth yet rustic, and paired with excellent warm bread. Then came the chicken skewers, charred just right, fragrant with spices, juicy and generously portioned, one of the best I’ve had in town. Rose had recommended the lamb shoulder from the tawle menu, calling it a standout. She was absolutely right. The slow roasted lamb shoulder, spiced with Syrian seven spice, sumac onions, and fresh herbs, arrived as a grand centerpiece and delivered on every level: rich, smoky, tender, and layered with flavor. It’s the sort of dish you’ll talk about long after dessert.
The wine pairing suggestions from the staff were thoughtful without being pushy, and the service overall struck the perfect balance between professional polish and warm attentiveness. Our server anticipated when we needed bread refreshed, explained each course clearly, and checked in at just the right intervals.
The bar area in front of the open grill is vibrant and social, perfect for a pre dinner drink or a lively evening out. Meanwhile the more secluded side alcoves and tables tucked away from the hearth have a softer, more romantic energy. Between the design, the firelit cooking, and the lively cross section of guests, it feels like LA has finally landed a destination that can handle date night, milestone dinner, or energetic gathering without compromise.
In short, Maydan LA delivers on style, heart, and extraordinary cooking. Rose and her team have created something more than a restaurant. They’ve made a place worth returning to again and again. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Whatever kinks needed working out from their initial launch have been resolved. My wife and I just enjoyed an incredible, very reasonably priced breakfast at Compass Rose with one of the best craft cocktails I’ve ever had. Excellent food, drinks, decor, staff and overall vibe. So happy to have this gem in our neighborhood.
