A friend recommended Meals by Genet and the experience was even better than they said! The food was absolutely incredible - the kind of meal you can’t explain to someone, they just have to try it for themselves. Chef Genet said hello to almost every table there. And our servers were outstanding!
The food is delicious, top quality! If you go alone, keep in mind that you’ll get much more on your plate than you can finish. You’ll definitely end up taking some home!

Had a 7:30 reservation. When we arrived the host told us he just needed 15 minutes for a table to clear. We then waited an hour and a half at which point no server or host would even make eye contact with us to give us any update. We went down the street to eat at another restaurant which was warm delicious and lovely. Restaurants get busy and there is a way to handle it. This wasn’t it and I won’t be back.

Meals by Genet is awesome. Great food, elegant atmosphere, and helpful service. The seasoning on the dorowot and minchet abish was spot on along with the lamb and some tasty selections in the veggie combo. Slightly disappointed that they didn't serve Ethiopian tea, but the food quality more than made up for it.
Went here for dinner, got the doro wot and chicken tibs. Chicken tibs were chewy, doro wot was just alright. The service was very poor.
The owner herself was kind, I think she had new staff, so may be the service problem is temporary, however for all the hype and the price, the food did not impress.

The best! So glad Chef Genet has reopened dine-in service. Shocked to see a recently opened “Ethiopian” restaurant completely rip off Chef Genet’s concept. Some people have no shame smh. Chef Genet’s food is a labor of love and highlights the true essence of Ethiopian cooking.
