Came to Melanie for a date night, as I thought it was the perfect type of restaurant for my fiancée. I was right, as she loved it, and I did too. They have half off bottles of wine on Mondays, and starting in January, Sundays as well. We got there early at around 5:30, so we had no problem getting a table. It did get quite crowded after 6:30 though. The ambiance is cute, the service was attentive, and our wine was also very tasty. We tried the hangar steak and the crab fettuccine. The steak was delicious and the crab fettuccini was good, but a little under flavored for my liking. Overall we really enjoyed it.

I'm so glad my other half surprised me with dinner at Melanie, I loved everything about my experience. We were there on Monday which turned out to be 1/2 off wine bottles which makes this wine-focused restaurant an amazing deal. The fact that I love steak frites was a major factor in the surprise he planned for me. I was in Paris a few months ago and have been craving it, I was very pleased with their version. We also got the Crab fettuccini which was good. They have a simple but good menu. Being a wine bar, they had a great selection of various wines. They even had a section for orange wines which I've actually never heard of! The service was also top notch. The manager was really on top of things and we learned about the struggles Melanie went through since they opened during the pandemic. I admire local businesses that made it through those tough times. He also mentioned in Jan they will also offer 1/2 off wine on Sundays. The ambiance of the restaurant is so nice. This is a perfect place for a date night, girls night out or maybe catching up with an old friend. It's a small restaurant with a dozen tables inside and several outside (with heat lamps). Parking is on the street which is my least favorite thing about coming to this area but Melanie is worth it and there were plenty of meters in the area since it was a Monday night.Note: they don't take reservations but you can rent out their venue for private events.

The roasted carrots with garlic labneh was to die for. Melanie is the perfect hole in the wall wine bar for a casual drink or a full dinner.

Go already.Great decor. Curries and Pad Thai rock. So does anything Paul recommends.

Don't let the menu listing a Tater Tot deceive you into thinking about anything else other than you're on 3rd Street in Beverly Grove. This discerning restaurant has a focal point for wines and serves an excellent atmosphere to grab a glass and some small bites to accompany. The menu does include some entree items, but the list is modest. Otherwise, this casualness to dining is an excellent alternative and choice.Right from the start the service is excellent. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic with little pretentiousness.Like any good wine-focused restaurant/bar, the wine list will change. The staff is knowledgeable, and the list gears toward drinkable wines from various regions to offer folks a good variety. Just don't expect to be all-encompassing.The pours seem to be on the mark, and not so deep. On the other hand, the pricing is steeper and a bit higher on the mark for the bottles they are pouring.

I really love this place. Great wine, great good, great location. But the service has really suffered recently. Not sure if it’s because it’s getting busier or they’re trying to save and not hire enough staff but it’s so hard to get attention to order and you wait forever for just a glass of wine to come. Disappointing. They also told us, a party of 3, that we could only have 3 tastes of wine per table, which feels pretty unreasonable for a wine bar, when you’re trying to decide what you want and try different things. We also spent almost $400 so we’re not just trying to take advantage.

What a delightful and unique date night at Melanie! If you go to their website they sell tickets for something called Melanie Talks Wine. It's $75 per person and you get to taste several wines, hear about each, and enjoy. The price also comes with a complimenting charcuterie board for your table which was so good and substantial. Also, all wines tasted are available to purchase at a 50% discount. I really appreciated how attentive the service was as well. I can't wait to come back for another Melanie Talks Wine! It's just so much fun!
