Came here for a date and the service, food, and drinks were all good. The back patio is nice, and the prices were very reasonable at Happy Hour. I’ll be back!

Drinks looked nothing like the photos. Served in wrong glasses. Martini served in wine glass,

Went in for some cocktails before dinner on a Wednesday night and it was chill. Living for my espresso martini and my hubby got a dirty martini ? stepping inside felt like we walked into the past with the original tables chairs and architecture.

I came in on a Saturday evening and magically got seats at the bar. I ordered a non alcoholic drink and my friends all ordered some cocktails. Everyone loved their drink. It was a good atmosphere and I want to come back!

George the bartender, here is so good. This is a shout out to them because not all bartenders are suave, chill, quick AND good at making drinks. I love taking my meetings here. The rustic, loungje vibe is a perfect chill ambience with a great drink menu. I recommend the Buffalo cauliflower from their small bits menu. I needed a caffeine boost before cocktails and George made me a Mushroom Mocha that hit the spot. They also have a great patio that's open for private events. I love it. Cute little spot.

The weathered ambiance with pull you in like a blanket and cover you with awesome Cali vibes. Service was impeccable & the food grabbed every tastebud. Absolutely divine!

Umbrella is our only choice for a cocktail bar on Melrose for a day time sip. Beautiful decor, simple food menu that doesn’t disappoint and an expansive backbar. Thank you for the hospitality George, we’ll be back soon.

I came here last night (Sunday 2/25) with a friend and had one of the oddest experiences with a waitress. My friend arrived first and ordered a drink and sweet potato fries. I arrived less than 10 minutes later. I was told the waitress would be right over but didn’t see her for a good 15 minutes. I ordered my drink and asked to close out the tab as I was paying with cash. The drink was $17 dollars. She never came back with my change. I was going to leave her the change anyway but I was bothered that she felt entitled to them as if I didn’t have a choice. She stopped by 3 different times to ask us what we ordered, another time if we were still waiting for our food..? Like, do you remember bringing it out?/ do you see it on the table? The sweet potatoes fries took 1 hour to come out. At this point I’m irked about the late fries and my change. When she brought out the fries, I asked her for my change. She aggressively let me know it was $2 and some change. I didn’t budge and said ok letting her know I was 100% expecting my changed back. She left and came back, but instead of having my change back she came to ask again if I was sure I wanted the change back as the drink had been $17 and tip would usually be $2. I was flabbergasted. I told her it was not okay to assume or feel entitlement over someone’s money. I get to choose if or how much I want to leave. This woman came back one more time and instead of bringing me my change. Asked me if there was something wrong with the service? I was extremely irritated at this point and let her know exactly what was wrong: 1) you took my money without my permission and held it hostage when I repeatedly asked you to give it back. 2) I didn’t see you for 15 minutes after I sat down. 3) the sweet potato fries took one hour + to come out.She made a comment about chatting with the manager. Didn’t even apologize if I remember correctly. Had this snarky entitled attitude at every encounter I had with her. She came back with 2 tequila shots. And my change. We left her the $2 she was begging for and even an extra $1 for the shot but damn was that bizarre. I worked in service for years and had never seen or hear of such a thing.

Horrible place with pathetic service. They make you stand around even with empty tables and the bartender is rude and busy flirting with girls. Avoid this place.

Came here late on a Sunday night as nothing else nearby was open. The vibe was lively and the decor with umbrellas on the wall and vintage items was really cute. There is a nice back patio but it was closed for the winter. I had an espresso martini and chicken tacos which were both well done. However the service was pretty awful, it felt like a self-serve fast food restaurant. We were a group of 5. No one greeted us. We were told to just sit wherever and order at the bar. We found 2 small tables and pushed them together. We waited for someone to clear the dirty glasses and napkins from previous guests, but no one did. Eventually we cleared the table ourselves... We ordered our drinks at the bar. They would not allow us to pay separately and we had to start a tab, fine. We ordered our food from the bartender as well. We wanted water. No one came to serve us. Eventually, I found large pitchers of water and clean glasses by the kitchen so I grabbed them myself and brought them to the table. it was busy so we didn't want to rush them, we just kept an eye on the bar to wait for our drinks to come out (the bartender told us he wouldn't bring the drinks to us, we have to come to the bar to get them). We waited more than 15 mins and none of our drinks were ready which was weird. Later, going to the washroom, my friend noticed all our drinks were sitting by the side of the bar. No one told us that is where we have to go collect them. Because the drinks had been sitting there for 15+ minutes, the ice had started to melt and some drinks became watered down :( After a long time the tacos came out (for once the tacos were actually brought to our table...) but without napkins. We had to flag someone down for napkins. Honestly, the whole thing was quite commical by that point... Also there are just 2 single stall washrooms and one of them had no hand soap, EW... So I had to go in the men's one (has a urinal and smelled SO BAD in there). This place is really nice inside and the food/drinks were actually good, but the lack of service and cleanliness really took away from the experience :( Hopefully they were just having an off night...

Very nice location on Melrose. The staff are very friendly, and there is a nice selection of drinks. A nice place to stop and have a drink and snack when wondering down the street.

Today was my second visit to this establishment. It is so adorable inside that I really wanted to like it, which is why I decided to give a second a chance - but this place is a heavy, major scene, and it doesn't matter if it's busy or not...the staff here do not give a f#-€£ about your experience. If all you want is to be seen in a scene, then like, OMG this is like, SOOOO your place to IG your cocktail. Do not go here if the quality of your experience matters whatsoever.
