Mel's Cafe is a cozy spot for a delicious meal, tucked into a residential neighborhood and easily overlooked. The 2x2 breakfast is a popular choice, featuring pancakes, eggs, and bacon or sausage. The chicken and waffles are a must-try, noted for their unique and superlative taste. The atmosphere is relaxing, with a real old-school feel, and the staff, operated by two older gentlemen, are known for their kind and attentive service. Families and children will find it a welcoming place, and it has wheelchair accessibility. It's a community gem with great food and service, standing out from chain restaurants. Unfortunately, it might be closing soon due to financial reasons, but there is hope as the cafe is re-opening this Friday. Checking out their Instagram for updates on hours and menu specials is recommended.
