Very nice experience. Quiet atmosphere in this typical 1950s style dinner. Fairly good food and service was great with Amanda. Lots of attention and interesting discussions with her. Would definitely come back.

True diner-style breakfast. Refill coffee, french toast, eggs...what's not to like?

Wow, what can I even say. I know you shouldn’t say this too often, but for me, this is truly one of those places where I just love to be. I don’t just go there for the food, it’s really the atmosphere that makes it so special. Every time I sit at Mel’s Drive-In, I know for sure I’m in America.
The people are super friendly, and it’s so easy to start a conversation. I’ve probably been there seven or eight times over the years, and it’s been great every single time. The only time they seemed a bit confused was when one of my daughters asked for a hot tea in the afternoon. That was definitely a culture shock, not just for me but also for the staff and everyone around.
Other than that, everything is just perfect. The burgers, the breakfast, everything. I honestly think the breakfast is one of the best I’ve ever had in the U.S. I love the place so much that I still wear my Mel’s T-shirt from time to time. It might sound cheesy, but every time I put it on, I instantly get a good vibe.
There’s a McDonald’s right around the corner, but honestly, if you’re in America, you should go to the places you can’t find in Europe. For me, Mel’s Drive-In is definitely one of them. 🍔☕✨

Went here for breakfast on our LA trip and was sadly disappointed. Guy on front desk seemed uninterested and pointed to an area and said sit somewhere. Waiter was a better, sorted our drinks and took our order. Food came quickly and big portions but tasted quite bland. Restaurant didn't have any sort of buzz, not many customers, very expensive for what we had, poor value for money.

A really fun classic diner. Can get a bit noisy with all the families that come from the walk of fame and museums but food was really good and chocolate milkshake hit the spot

Everyone working was super sweet, but this place was crazy understaffed. There was no hostess? A handful of waiters for this whole restaurant on a Saturday night AND they have to host and ring people up between tables? Dinner came to $95 for two of us- I ended up with a warm milkshake and a dry burger that looked and felt like it’d just been sitting around for a long time lol- $20 for an inedible burger is crazy, they’re the easiest thing to make. If you want Mel’s, pleeeeease go to the Santa Monica location!

Nice place with delicious food. The only thing I didn't like is the paid parking lot, even for customers. They charge you every hour, even if you're just 5 mins late. Sometimes 1 hour is not enough to dine in.
