I recently tried Kyoto Paitan Ramen last week and Curry Ramen this week at this spot. The Kyoto Paitan Ramen was good, but I was really impressed by the Curry Ramen. It wasn’t very spicy, but it was packed with flavor. I prefer thicker noodles, so I’d love to see that option next time. Overall, a great experience!

We'd never had Japanese fried chicken before and it was a treat! Juicy and flavorful!

This shop is cozy and comfortable and in a cute little strip with lots of food offerings The prices were good for the area.

Parking is a little challenging. We were able to find paid street parking just around the corner.

Very good and filling, nice large portion for small upgrade. I got my curry soup custom with half pork half chicken. Nice friendly staff.

Curry ramen was very rich and flavorful with a mild kick, combined with the thick cut of chashu it’s a very hearty bowl of noodles.

Amazing tasting food, very underrated; almost a secret find in Sawtelle which has tons of great food!

The Baseline: For a ramen restaurant the noodles must be fresh, cooked with consistency in firmness, broth must be tasty with good body, accompaniment additions must match with the style, and the plating must work for the ramen presentation/function. Added to the baseline is for Karaage chicken that must be crispy, meaty, and flavorful.

Food: The base bowl of ramen is very tasty and the noodles have good pull. The Karaage chicken is really delicious with a crispy breading and thick pieces of chicken. This is Karaage chicken by Anzu that recently merged into this restaurant.

Service: The service was excellent and I picked up my Karaage chicken and fries. The staff brought bout me while I was waiting outside. Great service.

Atmosphere: The seats are comfortable and the tables are well situated. The outdoor patio has heating lamp so you will be okay outside.

I went there to try a Japanese curry, the food was great & tasty, the service was good and the place was clean & neat. The price was moderate but the only downside was the parking it was hard to find it. Great experience

Curry ramen with fried chicken is my go to. I also like to mix the green tea and pink lemonade. It’s a perfect ice cold complement to the piping hot broth.

This place is awesome. I used to love Hurry Curry down the street and this is my new favorite Japanese curry spot. The cutlet was moist inside and crispy. The red ramen was also good. A little spicy. Nice iced green tea. 5 stars all around.

Curry ramen is excellent, but the fries are 6 dollars and this is all they give you and that’s highway robbery.

Their portioning seemed to be very off, places like curry house will give sufficient curry to rice ratio. Not here. An extra portion of curry was 5.50. Perhaps if the katsu wasn’t so dry.
