Went with the family and 2 micheladas, my wife had a margarita both were really good. Then we had the dos gringas (al pastor tacos), coliflor tacos, lobster tacos, and the carne asada all were delicious. We just happened to find this place after leaving universal studios and were completely satisfied. Staff is very attentive.

This place has the best nachos I've ever had. The savory flavor from the mushroom chorizo only amplifies the traditional flavors along with the perfectly cooked carnitas. I cannot recommend this meal enough.
Atmosphere is modern yet simple. There is background music but it's not too loud. It is very busy tho.
The drinks look delicious. Every drink that has passed my table is something I've oo'ed and aaaah'ed because it's just looks yummy! Their presentation isn't overly showy but inviting.
I rarely give a place a perfect score but I have nothing I could possibly comment on in terms of improvement.
They do have a happy hour which I recommend

Mercado serves very fresh and delicious Mexican food. Unlike many Mexican restaurants that overload their dishes with sauces and melted cheese, Mercado uses fresh, incredibly well seasons ingredients to put together Mexican food that is full with flavor.
Highly rec the steak tacos, mole, and the kale salad w/shrimp. Also, be sure to try their salsa, it's wonderfully smokey and delicious
Dietary restrictions: They were able to accommodate our Gluten Free friend very easily with plenty of delicious options

Jicama Shrimp Tacos and Dos Gringos Tacos were insanely delicious. I’m not a fan of cilantro, but I challenged myself to eat it and was pleasantly surprised. Both tacos were seasoned to perfection, which allowed me to enjoy the authentic flavor of the dish. The churro-flavored ice cream was delightful- not overwhelmingly churro-based——it had the right amount of flavor. The service was fantastic, from the hostess greeting you with personalized attention to the waitress, Cat, who ensured you received the best. I'm picky with Mexican food and this spot in the Universal neighborhood delivers the real deal! I had a non alcholic Margarita - YUMMMY!

The food was delicious!! We started with a watermelon margarita which was tasty and refreshing. The cheese dip had the perfect amount of spice to it and the chicken mole enchilada was the best, with fresh grilled corn and Mexican rice which was very fresh and definitely tastes really good. I’m a picky eater and was very happy with everything from start to finish. Will be back for sure. 10/10

We had the tacos de carnitas, tacos de papa,carne asada, spicy cucumber margarita, blood orange margarita, watermelon basil margarita, and flan. The food was very delicious and the drinks were refreshing. The service was great. The environment was nice. If we lived in CA, we'd go back.
