Just got charged $21 for the most mid sandwich ever. And $17 of that was just for the baguette and butter? Figure out how to charge properly!
That morning will probably stay with me for the rest of my life â and not in a good way. I absolutely love starting my day with a coffee and a croissant. A beautiful, fluffy, buttery croissant with a Parisian vibe â sometimes chocolate, sometimes classic â itâs my little pleasure. I donât allow myself pastries every day because I try to stay in shape, but when I do indulge, I want to fully enjoy the moment.
We specifically came to the Farmers Market to visit Michellina because it was described everywhere as âParisian vibes, from Paris with love.â Beautiful photos, pink lights, so many pastries and baked goods â it all looked perfect⊠until we actually got to the counter.
While we stood in line â and the line wasnât even long, we were second â I noticed flies sitting directly on the pastries. Not just landing for a second, but literally sitting there for minutes. It was shocking and honestly disgusting. The pastries were completely exposed, and the flies were walking all over them like it was their home.
What made it worse: the staff didnât care at all. The women working there didnât even try to shoo the flies away. Right in front of me, a fly sat on a pastry for at least two minutes, and then someone ordered that exact pastry. The staff member just picked it up as if nothing happened and handed it to the customer. I couldnât believe my eyes.
I was so disturbed that I didnât touch a single croissant or pastry for almost a month after that morning. I even took photos because I couldnât believe how many flies were on the food â I literally made a whole photoshoot of flies for 10 minutes because they were just walking around freely.
It was honestly one of the most unpleasant food experiences Iâve ever had. I think itâs unacceptable and a total disgrace for a place that sells pastries at a popular market in Los Angeles. Every time I visit the Farmers Market, I still see crowds there, and Iâm shocked that people continue eating something that, sorry, looks like itâs been shared with every fly in the neighborhood.
Absolutely a hard no from me. Total ban.

I passed this stall in the farmerâs market area of The Grove and the pastries looked so appetizing. I bought hazelnut praline croissant. The croissant was good and flaky. The hazelnut praline filling had a good sweetness. However, I wish that the croissant was more buttery.

Great breakfast place!
I really love this little bakery- it had various types of pastries, like croissants and little cakes, and macaroons, and it is perfect for breakfast or just a coffee stop:
Apart from those little pastries, you can also have a big regular breakfast and there are many option with Benedict eggs in that place. LOVE this!
Coffee is also great, if you are not feeling too full, just get it!
It's pretty popular and gets busy through your the day; better save ur spot and come early:)

Overall this is a decent spot to visit while at the Grove and Farmers Market.
Last time I stopped by, I enjoyed the croissant but the latte was terrible and the service was pretty lackluster.
I stopped by today and service was much better. I ordered a strawberry mousse and couple macarons.
The mousse wasnât as sweet as I expected which was a good thing. It looks like a giant strawberry! The mouse is light and fluffy with a tart strawberry filling and soft cake.
The raspberry macaron and chocolate macaron were pretty small for $3.00 and the texture wasnât quite there but the flavor were nice (tart for the raspberry and chocolatey for the ⊠chocolate) and they werenât overly sweet
